Can’t believe I just found your channel! I am an RVT in CA. I teach in a vet tech program. This is second career for me. I retired from the Navy in 2012. This last year has convinced me to pursue my DVM. I will start the application process this year. I look forward to watching your journey!
Thanks for such an informative video! I am currently applying to UAZ and I'm am super nervous! Could you share your experience applying to the program? It is my first choice for vet school and I really want to get in!
Hi Carol! So glad it was helpful! The application process was very straight forward; several essay questions to answer, a personal statement, and the usual transcripts to submit. They use the MMI format for the interview process which I actually liked better than traditional interview style. Will you be in-state or out of state?
Far Fetched Adventures thanks for the reply! I am almost done with my essays. I plan on submitting it in two days. I wonder how interviews will be held due to the pandemic. How long did it take for you to hear back from them after applying? I’m from Oregon. Are you in-state?
Carol Guerra Im out of state too. I was in California before moving here. Interviews were held the very last weekend in February and I received my acceptance letter on March 19th.
DVM was always the plan. I just got in to vet school sooner than I thought I would. If i hadn’t, I absolutely would have continued with the program at Purdue.
Far Fetched Adventures Did you like the VNDL program? This is kind of my plan too, and I’m hopefully starting the program in January. I want to get my RVT, and than finish my pre reqs and pursue vet school.
i did. I think it’s a fantastic program especially given its flexibility. If i had to pick out a drawback it’s that if you want to watch your bachelors degree, you have to complete a portion of the program on campus. Otherwise, you can earn your associates online and complete your clinical mentorships with an approved doctor/clinic.

Good luck!! I’m sure you’ll do great :)
Oh wow! I watched your Purdue VNDL video. Can I ask what made you decide to pursue your DVM instead of the veterinary nursing program? I
