  • I cut open a Brita Standard 2 month filter and compare it to a 6 month Long Last Brita Water filter. I show you the inside of each water filter. Do they have the same water flow rate. what is different about the filters. do they filter the same chemicals? Is the charcoal the same. Is it cheaper to use a long last filter or a standard Brita Filter.

    I love your in depth reviews and descriptions of all features available for various models of frequently purchased consumer products. Your analysis is very informative. I turned to you when deciding on the perfect coffee maker to suit my needs. Thanks to you I finally have a coffee maker that is perfect for my needs! I hope you decide to study the coffee hot plates on the market. There are many for sale, each with different features. Just reading the descriptions of these mini hot plates, makes choosing one confusing. I purchased one. It certainly provides a hotter beverage than what I'd be drinking without such a device. But overall I'm not satisfied. I wish I knew exactly what all the others can do, because I really wish I had something different/better. Thank-you.

I wish you would do a video comparing how well the filter filters through an older picture style or a different Brita style

    The standard filter has activated charcoal which is used to filter the water. You should think about using the standard when you add the DIY which allows you to reuse the same filter continuously just by replacing the activated charcoal which you can't do with the elite. Price changes to $1.50 for the standard vs $15 for the elite. Just a thought

    I just watched a video where a guy did a very comprehensive test of multiple water filter pitchers.
    The waterdrop scored a 92. The Brita got an 82.
    I think the brita he used had the older style filter.
    I'm looking for the WaterDrop 20 cup. It removes more than the Brita and doesn't add anything to the water. Apparently the Brita can add trace amounts of sodium and silver, even after a gallon was flushed through the filter.
    I plan to use it to filter my bottled water. May try tap eventually.
    I've recently been reading about the benefits off distilled water. But I don't think storing it in cheap plastic jugs on a grocery store shelf is optional.
    Anyway, thanks for the information

    • @JohnSmith-ys4nl
      @JohnSmith-ys4nl ปีที่แล้ว +3

      6 months is just an estimate based on average use. Brita says it lasts 120 gallons, so measuring the gallons is more accurate. If you drink 1 gallon per day, it will last 4 months. If you drink only 1/2 gallon per day, you can get 8 months out of it. 6 months puts you right in the middle.

    Will the longlast fit in the other pitcher?

  • @3rd-Wave_Rebel
    @3rd-Wave_Rebel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In theory, long last should be the better value, since it claims it can filter 120 gallons in 6 months and 40 gallons in 2 months for the regular filter.
    Save more and waste less plastic. I’m a long Brita user and haven’t switched to other brand. And I absolutely hate the green algae growing in every Brita pitcher I owned!
    Today I will switch to Larq UV light water pitcher which is a little more expensive than Brita. The advanced filters claim to filter more impurities and other chemicals and plus it has UV light sanitation to eliminate germs and bacteria in water. It can kill the buildup of green slimy algae that can be found at the bottom of every Brita filter pitcher if wasn’t clean regularly. But i notice, when I do a deep cleaning of the pitcher, the green substance still came back in a day or two after pouring the water into the pitcher. The algae is really irritating so I will see Larq will have me convert to their filter system!

      @@JustADad why isn't it working in my big 18 cup filter then? I put it in correctly but the design looks way different than the original, doesn't even match the ad I saw on it. But it does say "brita" on mine. & it doesn't go all the way to the cross/+ thing on the bottom of the filter tube, only 2/3's of the way. It just runs right through like pouring water in a cup the regular way instead of slowly dripping. Takes only about 2 minutes when it should take at least 10 minutes to an hour.
