  • Welcome to Xalapa, Veracruz! Xalapa is the capital of the state of Veracruz here in Mexico. If you are looking for things to do, what to do, que hacer in Xalapa we highlight some of those in this Mexico Travel Vlog.
Xalapa really surprised us, in such a good way especially with all of its green spaces and coffee shops! If you are traveling through Mexico and are stopping in Veracruz we definitely recommended taking time to check out Xalapa. And make sure you don’t miss Xalapa’s Museo de Antropologia, or the Museum of Anthropology here in Xalapa.

The people are so nice here. The weather is great. There are nice malls and restaurants.

Enjoyed Xalapa very much and the academic, art atmosphere was great. I do encourage, and it’s my opinion, to not air bnb only because it’s turned neighborhoods upside down. I do hotel rooms, it could be about the same or cheaper if you plan well and sometimes I’m okay with paying extra. It’s the principle.

If you're a tourist, it's okay for like 2-3 days, but then it gets pretty lame pretty quickly as there's nothing exciting left to discover about this town and it feels very provincial despite its number of inhabitants. I've been here for several weeks to visit my gf who's doing a semester abroad. To be honest, I'm bored to death, the climate is a disaster and the food is giving me constant diarrhea. The people are very friendly and helpful but nevertheless there's absolutely no reason to spend a lot of time in Xalapa if you have the opportunity to travel to other places in Mexico instead.

Xalapa is not known to be humid but mosquitos are still around at dusk and dawn. I haven’t heard much about dengue being an issue in Xalapa

Great to see you both again. All that beautiful food is making me hungry😅. The love locks are supposed to symbolise love & eternity & a lot of the time put on by couples but also people who have lost loved ones in death also leave locks to symbolise the same.❤🔐

You two are adorable! I am an American that lived in Xalapa for 8 years. I love that city. The whole area around xalapa too. All the small towns and hidden places that only the locals know. In the cool mountains and valleys. One of my fave restaurants is a fish taco place way up on the side of a mountain. They funnel water from the mountain stream into tanks where they grow trout in clear, clean always moving water. Your fish is the freshest fish you will ever eat. A few bottles of indio and it was heaven on earth. Tables right next to the stream in the woods on the mountainside. I miss it so much. I had to leave a couple years ago. Thank you for this vid. Very well done. Subbed on the first vid.
