There's one missing. Carlito was a bit of shock Because even though it was in Puerto Rico, and hometown advantage with how the crowd looked at him. Getting the biggest pop of his career, Still shocking.
I was there as well and did some reading up on it afterwards. My seats were near the stage and we could see into the backstage area. Some of the wrestlers came over to our section and posed for pictures and handshakes. The reaction, shock, and surprise in the ring? It was totally genuine. Backstage, they expected Hogan to get booed out of the building. When they are in the middle of the ring and staring each other down, you can make out Hogan mouthing "They're cheering for me brother!" From what I understand, they changed the match on the fly by giving Hogan more offense, a few more babyface moments, and let The Rock go heel with the weightlifter's belt, and mocking some of Hogan's poses. And then the nWo falling apart at the end? Also on the fly. Toronto can be a strange place for wrestling sometimes...or maybe that's just Canadian wrestling...but the way it was handled was perfect because both Rock and Hogan totally stole the show. I felt bad for the women's match and then the HHH/Jericho match to close the show because you might recall, the crowd was just dead. I don't know about you, but the Hogan/Rock match took it out of us - nothing was going to top it and we had no voices left from all of the yelling and cheering! Great, great crowd that night.
Whether you like Hogan or not. He’s a far more iconic wrestler than the rock. That’s why the rock got booed out of the building. The fans were on the nostalgia train at wrestlemania 18
John CHE-NAH... I swear, Santino Marella was such a megastar in his own special kind of way, I kind of wanted to see him be at the top just once, but he knew what he was there for and did it better than most. What a great guy, he also just seems like a genuinely great dude outside of the ring from interviews and just what kind of things he does, so there's that too.

An argument could be made for the double scorpion deathlock from AEW Dynamite when Darby Allin & Sting battled 2.0. When Sting got up after no selling being put through a table in 2021, the cheers were loud. But when he put both opponents on top of one another, stacked like cordwood, and twisted the duo into a single SDL the crowd lost its collective mind. As the Icon sits down, selling the pain, his opposition that night could not slap the mat hard enough, the crowd got even louder. Plus, a little context, I think that this was his first non ppv match since his team up with Super Cena on Raw in 2015.
In serveral of the DDPY videos, Dallas has said the Road Warriors would get the loudest pops. So much so that the locker room would later talk of "Warrior-level pops" referring to them.
La knight took me by surprise. I don’t usually get why some superstars get so over, but when it’s guys like la knight that are on their way up to be a star, I’m happy for them, whether I get it or not
@@dayosticalHe's good looking, passionate and can hold a crowd in the palm of his hand. He has a certain "IT" factor that you can't teach. I'm not asking to change anyone's mind on him. I'm just giving you some reasons why he's so over.
Ahh, the Ruthless Aggression Era. Where, just like the Attitude Era before it, if a woman didn't "put out" for a man, she "got what she deserved" from him instead. Yes, Brian Gewirtz (and Vince, obviously) were just as much slimy incels as Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara. it’s funny how this wasn’t the only time to happen to Seth. At wrestlemania the jumbotron kept on turning off and on the whole stadium would boo and cheer. if you really listen match with logan, you’ll hear the reactions don’t really line up with the match at times.
The Santino pop was my favorite my friend and I were Watching it and were going to to do the trumpet if he one. Shame he didn't but it was a great match.
I thought the exact same thing, let Santino win then have Daniel Bryan beat him to regain the title on Friday in time for his mania match against Sheamus.
DelRio only got the pop that he did because he was the last major wwe signing who looked like a pro wrestler. Now all we got is a bunch of ingrown jobbers fighting to be remembered half as fondly as their prorotype: Gillberg
Sid in ECW. He was everything that the ECW faithful purported to despise. Big, slow, lumbering, limited number of moves, reputation for laziness, associated with the big companies, and he was saddled with one of the more forgettable and less interesting managers that the federation had ever had to work with. But damn, did the ECW crowd ever love them some Sid.
I think the list refers more to the idea that you’d expect people to pop for an edge return in 2020… but in 2008 you didn’t expect a MSG crowd to pop for cena.
Extreme rules 2018 was a weak show. Do you remember any moments from it, keeping in mind this is the same city (Pittsburgh) that had the Undertaker/ Mankind Hell in the cell match?
There's one missing. Carlito was a bit of shock Because even though it was in Puerto Rico, and hometown advantage with how the crowd looked at him. Getting the biggest pop of his career, Still shocking.
One of the biggest pops of all time in terms of how loud it got
Never underestimate the power of Nationalism, they were cheering a Puerto Rican not Carlito
I was in the crowd for Rock/Hogan and the pop for Hogan was nuts. I'm convinced when they both look at the crowd that shock was genuine

Shane McMahon coming back while Stephanie about to give a speech and that Detroit crowd erupted, that was insane.
That transition between Jake and Santino at the end was a nice touch. 😉
Simon Miller needs an action figure.
👍
Why am I only able to like this once??
Someone with a 3d printer should scan him and do that. Sell em at the shop. A phone can 3d scan him
They do have websites where you can custom order wrestling figures.
Simon Miller is ☝️

Simon miller at all in 😂
1. HHH return from his quad injury at MSG
2. HBK - "Montreal who's your Daddy?" when Hitman's music kicked on
No *surprises* there...
Nobody had kicked out of the Cobra before Bryan at EC so people really believed that could be it
I was at Wrestlemania 18 and the pop for Hogan was insane. I was with my dad. One of the best moments of my life
Excellent transition from Jake to Santino at the end!
There is a snake pit segment where during the interview, Jake DDTed hogan. It got a huge pop.
Vince panic and cut the segment.

"Huge Pop!"
- Mark "Undertaker" Calloway.
I loved Steve Blackman!
I was at the elimination chamber with Santino. He was so over I honestly wondered if they were gonna pull the trigger on a run. So fun
That opening plan you said would never work did work for Chris Jericho in 2010? Remember when he was "speechless" for WEEKS?
Stop shouting
0:02 omg remember when Chris Jericho did that😂
Scot stineer debut at MSG was a huge pop
Viscera at the end of his match with Kane at, I think, Backlash. When he squashed Trish...huge pop...and I don't mean Trish! 😂

Dolph cashing in his MITB after Del Rio had that (kayfabe) ankle injury.
Simply amazing.
Santino should have gotten a push after that performance
3 Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole same night in AEW 2 Edge at Royal Rumble 1 CM Punk 1st time in AEW roof was coming down before his music hit
Amazing but not shocking.
@patrickdare5356 suppose most people know about Punk, but no one was expecting Edge to come back
Simon Miller needs acknowledgment. Like what Roman Reigns keeps telling people to do. I think Simon Miller should be the head of the table.
When it came to del Rio, we were popping for Zeb, not him... Sorry, Alberto...🤣👍
A good pop makes my tummy warm and fuzzy

You've missed Dolph cashing in his money in the bank against Del Rio
I don't care what year it is. It's still Rusev Day!
Why is B Cool not on this list?
Love the Macho Man reference. ❤
Pretty much every RKO gets a huge Pop. Especially the Evan Bourne and Seth Rollins pop up RKOs.
But not shocking.
The Santino pop was my favorite my friend and I were Watching it and were going to to do the trumpet if he one. Shame he didn't but it was a great match.
Steve Blackman was awesome...
On paper, two monsters throwing everyone out one by one for The Authority sounds good. But Roman wasnt ...the guy...for the job lol
The one at Extreme Rules 2018 was so annoying in person.
Can't agree on Okada. Huge pop, sure, but he was there the year before. Got huge pops then. So in no way a surprise.
I was there for the Okada pop
umm we just gonna sit here like edge's return pop never happened????
*Surprise* pops. That was expected. Why is no one reading the title?
@@tomseville2345 if u think edge’s return wasn’t a surprise pop then you are on drugs.

LA Knight still getting mega pop that matters
YEAH !
WWE doesn’t like it when wrestlers get over organically. Zack Ryder and Daniel Bryan are two examples.
DelRio only got the pop that he did because he was the last major wwe signing who looked like a pro wrestler.

Del rio was a great in ring talent fr💯 with a great gimmick also it’s a shame he had to be a prick outside of the ring
Wait a minute, we can't hear the pops?
This is like offering a starving man wax fruit.
Has Simon always pronounced words and emphasised certain sylables this way?
Baroin Corbin in Paris too

Imagine if Santino did win at the elimination chamber
Just goes to show how bad WWE was in the 2010s that some fans wanted Santino to be World Champion.
Jake the Snake Roberts deserves better. Hulk Hogan did him dirty.
Simon 4 Wembley
Jake Roberts was only 31!! He looks like he is about 58
Hmph....no HHH return in January 2002?
Edge return 2020 instead of cena
