MAN! When I saw that Tim Burton was coming to MoMA I wanted to go so bad, but I live way out here in Colorado. I hope he comes back?! I'm actually going to be visiting New York in December 2012, so perhaps he will. That would be awesome.
I was told I could not draw as well, and he's lucky that he found a supportive teacher that let him express himself, I never had that opportunity, but I still felt confident about myself and continue to draw Tim Burton is the man.
Best interview ever! I wish I could be there with Tim Burton he is my everything, he inspires me everyday. I can't wait for Alice In Wonderland. Thank you so much for making this video and actually letting people post it. I love it.
I absolutely love Tim Burton as a director! Everything he's made is just amazing! I'm currently working on getting all of his movies on high defintion Blu-Ray, although i already got it on DVD and VHS!
wow....I didn't know that I had so much in common with this guy. I've always loved him and his work but I had no idea that I was this relatable to him. Just the things he says and his feelings growing up...reminds me of myself.
was not a big tim burton fan, had seen a couple of films by him and just didn't care much for him. i saw this exhibit tonight and really admire his creativity and childish, yet twisted, vision. bravo mr burton for being able to express yourself in such a wicked manner.
Hola Tim burton, I went to your art exhibit in Los Angeles and left fully inspired. Also when I had seen your movies growing up I was always intrigued by how much they reminded me of my hometown of Burbank. Now I know why.
Great video. I like the way he shares his experiences of being in school and the challenge of maintaining his creativity. It reminded me of Sir Ken Robinson's talk on creativity at TED.
dude. i love your movies and your art. it gave me inspiration and ideas of my own. i just loved how the themes and other things that you put in your work because its totally like me. im excited to see what you bring out next. =] loved this video too. :D
tim burton is an inspiring genius im a huge fan of his, and a supporter of his movies, he's my favourite director i want to try copying some of his artwork, it's definitely my kind of style, he's truly amazing :)
absolutely correct mr. Burton! people forget that children should be able to express themselves however they feel and many adults try to mold them to fit into society.... i for one let my little sister express herself freely and she is amazing! she's watching Edward Scissorhands as we speak... she loves it and she's 2! aha LOL :)
my mom and i have been saving up since this was announced in.. i think early spring wasn't it? we're gonna come see this in spring break!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!
@ToddsTickler The tracks were written by Danny Elfman for specifically use in the MOMA exhibit. They played on the in the gallery spaces and on the exhibit's website.
Tim Burton my all time most favorite!!!!!!!!!!! he is soo amazingly talented and same here that i don't like art teachers or anybody that criticize my drawings, art etc. and saying it should be this or that and not different. any forms of art should be different cause everybody is an individual and has their own style there is no "this is suppose to be this or that" your suppose to be expressing yourself through your art!
Simplemente un geeenio! Irónicamente la muestra comenzo el 22/11, día de mi cumpleaños! ...con lo que me encantaaaría veerla.. algún día.. no muy lejano..
It would have been great if The Giant Zlig would have been published, I've seen the pictures of the ones that were at the Tim Burton exhibit in LACMA, and I thought his drawings for that story were very good. I hope he gets it published soon, I'd like to own a copy.
wow...so surprised to find I have ALOT in common with this guy. I've always loved him as a director but I didn't know I was this relatable to him. cool...
Haha, we had to do biographys for english class, so I chose to do Tim. I got the highest grade of all the classes, even honors (99/100), and I got the most attention, I appaerntly had the most enthusiasm of everyone, and I only got a 99 because I went over the time limit. XD My dream is to someday 1: work at Tim Burton films, and 2: to go see the MoMa exihibit on him. I'd be the happiest person alive if I got both accomlished....
some people get off saying that tim burton's work is weird and strange and because of that, they label him a weirdo but come to think of it........who ISN"T weird. we are all weird in our own ways thats what my philosophy of life is. Normal is boring.
Just one work to describe Tim Burton: GENIUS!!!

I don't like when art teachers criticize your artwork and tell you it should look differently
I was told I could not draw as well, and he's lucky that he found a supportive teacher that let him express himself, I never had that opportunity, but I still felt confident about myself and continue to draw
