I have been creating art for 5 decades…I look at some of this and it’s really cool, interesting and worth being the space it’s in! Then there’s some that’s just garbage…it’s like me taking my old skid marked underwear, and framing it and calling it Art…
I hope one day "outsider art" becomes more relevant than corporate millionaire art... I am tired of seeing garbage art selling for millions of dollars while good art is ignored...

Controlled opposition, anybody who thinks that outsider art is something akin to the “Salon des Refusés” which function was to break the monopoly of the gatekeepers on the art world is very naive and totally wrong, it is the same old gatekeepers rebranded, nothing but a new marketing ploy, if you don’t believe me try getting your work into one of those “outsider” art fairs, it is as impossible as getting into a regular gallery, the whole art world is disturbingly Kafkaesque.
Just because it is outsider art doesn't mean that anyone can show work at this fair. It still relies on the galleries since they are paying for the booth.
@@artefuse yes really, it’s like if Raytheon created a nonprofit called Relief fund for helping the victims of war in (insert name of any country US military has bombed) and gave the proceeds to its rich stockholders in the Hamptons. It is not only a lie, but also fraudulent.
@@athanasy.j.b Ummmmm just in case you might not know that the "Outsider" is any person who has not had any formal training/schooling in regards to art or being an artist. So many of them can and are very much a part (inside) of the arts community!!!
Corporate krapp; Artists represented by slimeballs passing off their work as 'Outsider Art'. It isn't. Most of it is just Bad Art. There are many excellent American videos about this subject. This is mostly fake.

I go back and watch this several times. So much to see. I have mobility problems and I can sit here and go to the gallery.
