The Moody Blues are one of my all-time favorites. Days of Future Past and To Our Childrens, Childrens, Children are two of the most amazing albums ever produced. Ride My See-Saw, Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?), Nights in White Satin, The Voice, The Other Side of Life are all great songs by them. Such incredible orchestration in their music.
I would put the album InSearchOfTheLostCord in the same category with the above 2, making it a trifecta! The songs from those 3 lps would make the best MoodyBlues reactions, IMO! The featured song seems relatively bland to me, compared to the music on the best 3 lps (from their classic period)...
I saw almost every tour between '87 and 2015. Miss that so much. They'd come to our outdoor amphitheater every other year or so, and it'd always sell out. Was a wonderful tradition.

It depicts Hayward and an unnamed woman throughout his career, showing how their relationship drifted apart as the band's success grew. She tries to meet him backstage but is unsuccessful, as Hayward is ushered away before they can reunite. But neither never truly let go completely. When she heard his voice on the record, her memories and emotions flooded back and she had to go see him one more time.

When it goes back to color it is showing them currently after the Moody Blues became famous which ultimately ended their relationship (which happened a lot when groups or singers became famous. They lost their home town loves before they became famous. But they still never lost their love for each other. She is now married with kids, but still thinks of him, and he does of her. There are two groups I've seen live that were absolutely spot on in their harmonies live. Sounded just as good live as in the studio. Not many groups can pull that off. The Moody Blues was definitely one of those kind of groups. The other was the Eagles.

The main characters - same blond guy - much younger in the past and in black and white. The band in black and white is the same band when they were much younger and just getting started. And like all driven people, he had to make a choice between his dreams of success as a musician, and his love of a girl. In this case, the band dream won. She didn't want that life. But, now that he is much older and has all the success he ever wanted, he starts reminiscing about the girl. I think this happens a lot with musicians. There are SO many songs about it!!

But she kept playing even after they married and had kids because she realized she didn't stay with the guy who truly cared about her. She felt trapped in a lifestyle she hated. But when she got the chance to see him again in hopes of making up for a poor decision she made in her youth, they weren't able to connect even though he still thought about her even as he became a star. It's a story of regret for taking a path that did not lead to happiness and not getting a second chance.

A great song that came out in the 80’s from a band that was big in the 60’s and 70’s reminiscing from the 80’s back to the 60’s about the girl that got away wondering if she still thinks about him. It turns out she does and regrets her marriage to someone else because it keeps her from going back to him. Such a bitter sweet but beautiful song.

A great song that came out in the 80’s from a band that was big in the 60’s and 70’s reminiscing from the 80’s back to the 60’s about the girl that got away wondering if she still thinks about him. It turns out she does and regrets her marriage to someone else because it keeps her from going back to him. Such a bitter sweet but beautiful song.
