CORRECTION: The Miller Classification for mobility should read as follows. Class 0: physiologic mobility Class 1: 1 mm horizontal mobility Class 3: >1 mm horizontal mobility and any amount of vertical mobility
Hi Dr. Ryan! Correction to the Miller mobility classifications: Class 1: up to 1 mm of horizontal movement Class 2: more than 1 mm of horizontal movement Class 3: more than 1 mm of horizontal movement with vertical movement Also worth noting that both the NBDE and INBDE now only use the new periodontal classification system, so this vid might be outdated now :/
According to Wikipedia regarding Miller class on mobility: Class 1: < 1 mm(Horizontal) Class 2: >1 mm(Horizontal) Class 3: > 1 mm (Horizontal+vertical mobility)
I'm so thankful I stumbled on these videos during my studies - their worth is immeasurable! Thank you so very much for all the hard work you've done putting these together. I was also really touched by the scriptures you included in the study plan. You really exemplified Matt. 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. I got mad respect for you :) It would be really great if this presentation was updated with the new periodontal classification system - since per the ADA it is what will be on the test starting Summer of 2020. Although I'm not sure if it is worth it since part II is getting replaced with the INDBE here soon.
Thank you so much, Christina! That is so encouraging to hear you say that. All the glory goes to Him! And yes, I plan to make a video for the new classification system soon 😊
hey Dr !! I appreciate all the great work you do for us, please make a video about the new classification for periodontal diseases because we found it in the majority of recent articles in perio....thank you so much
I think this is an interesting way to learn dentistry instead of reading lots of book, esspecially for people who study English as a second language like me ^^
Thank you for all the series! Aiming to write the NDEB exam soon and although NDEB and the NBDE may have their differences, concepts remain the same! Glad to have your videos to clear them! Do keep them coming!
Your videos are really helpful and very informative... just one suggestion ... please leave some space in the slide at the bottom and don't put a picture there... as there are ads that cover that area and sometimes the ad doesn't have a X button to close it... n thus it obscures our view.... Once again Thanks Doc for these videos..
can you please make a video on endo perio lesions as well. Its classification, how will we differentiate between pulpal and periodontal diseases and management.
Thanks so much for all your videos! I was wondering if you could possibly make an updated video with the new periodontal classification system. Thanks a lot for all your hard work :)
As of now 2022, the INBDE only covers the new perio classification system. Dr. Ryan, do you think you'll end up doing a new updated Perio Classification video with grading, staging, and diagnosing? Thank you!
This video doesn't seem to be updated with new perio classification. Aggressive, chronic and ANUP and ANUG term are no longer used. Hope I am not wrong. Thanks for great video though.
Thanks doctor Ryan for these great videos. I have a question concerning infrabony defects The diagram you showed for class 2 Isn’t that a horizontal bone loss ?
Unfortunately I was away the past week and caught a bad cold and am unable to record right now. I will try to work on the next video as soon as possible, but if I cannot upload in time, I wish you all the best with your board exam, you'll do great!!
The JCNDE guide have said that the new 2017 Perio classifications will be implemented in the summer of 2020, which is now... Will you be making a new video for it?
@@mentaldental Amazing! When would it be uploaded? I'm taking it in a few weeks so wondering if I can just wait for your video. Thank you for all your work.
Hi DR RYAN thanks but need to know what do you think about 2018 clasification of Periodontal -Peri-Implant diseases .need your advises because in few days TAKE A BOARD
CORRECTION: The Miller Classification for mobility should read as follows.
Class 0: physiologic mobility
Class 1: 1 mm horizontal mobility
Class 3: >1 mm horizontal mobility and any amount of vertical mobility
I passed INBDE and Dr. Ryan was the biggest reason why! Thanks @mentaldental !
I have never liked periodontics, but your lectures are so dam good, it makes perio a peace of cake. Thank you for taking the time to do this
Hi Dr. Ryan! Correction to the Miller mobility classifications:
Class 1: up to 1 mm of horizontal movement
Class 2: more than 1 mm of horizontal movement
Class 3: more than 1 mm of horizontal movement with vertical movement
Also worth noting that both the NBDE and INBDE now only use the new periodontal classification system, so this vid might be outdated now :/
Both exams still occasionally ask about the old classification so it is still relevant!
@@mentaldental so just to confirm, the miller classification posted in these slides is incorrect?
???
According to Wikipedia regarding Miller class on mobility:
Class 1: < 1 mm(Horizontal)
Class 2: >1 mm(Horizontal)
Class 3: > 1 mm (Horizontal+vertical mobility)
that's how I learned it in my dental school as well
Also, Miller is Grading of mobility - Grade I, II, III
You are the bestest teacher in this whole wide world😍

As of now 2022, the INBDE only covers the new perio classification system. Dr. Ryan, do you think you'll end up doing a new updated Perio Classification video with grading, staging, and diagnosing? Thank you!
I have a video on that exact topic later in this series!
@@mentaldental Hello Doctor Ryan so do we disregard this video and go directly to the new classification video instead?
Wow you are great when you are giving lecture !🙄
Thank you!
Oh. Should I watch this video first or the New Classification video?
Thank you!
I think there is valuable information in both of them to be honest! As for what is being tested right now, I would watch both of them.
Thank u
Will you do a video on the updated Periodontal disease classification?
I will! Hopefully I will have it done in a few weeks!

Hi, can you please make a video according to the new classification that has been introduced.
Yes, I can certainly work on that!

i would love to see all of your videos with hebrew subtitles .
Do they ask about the newer classification of Periodontitis with staging and grading on the NBDE part 2?
Yes, now they are. I will have a video on this new classification system shortly!
Would loveeeeeee a video on the new perio classifications
We have one on the channel!

Also whats the titlte?
Hi, Will NBDE use the old classification still for Part 2 in 2022?
Hi Dr Ryan, in Hamp class. Do we go for GTR with grade 1 or 2?!
Greaaaaat😍😍😍😍🌹
Will we get more periodontics videos?
Yes! I uploaded the next video in the series yesterday and more will be coming soon.

Thank you for all your work.
is the Periodontal disease classification still the same for the INBDE or have they had any updates?
I have an updated video on this channel for the new classification system!
Periodontal disease distribution is not determined by how many sites, but how many teeth involved.
Why is there such a dramatic change between a Glickman Class II and Class III? There is no in between?
is this the new or older classification ?
This is the older classification! I have a video on the new classification system on my channel as well.
I thought periapicals were superior to bite wings for measuring bone loss
Are the characteristics of chronic NUG the same as the acute?
Good question! Necrotizing diseases can share a lot of the same symptoms, but there is technically no “chronic necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis.”
