Trolls Movie Description:
After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy (Anna Kendrick), the happiest Troll ever born, and the overly-cautious, curmudgeonly Branch (Justin Timberlake) set off on a journey to rescue her friends. Their mission is full of adventure and mishaps, as this mismatched duo try to tolerate each other long enough to get the job done.
Trolls is a 2016 American animated jukebox musical comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox, based on the Good Luck Trolls dolls created by Thomas Dam. The film was directed by Mike Mitchell and co-directed by Walt Dohrn (in his feature directorial debut), from a screenplay by the writing team of Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, based on a story by Erica Rivinoja. It stars the voices of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Christine Baranski, Russell Brand, John Cleese, and Gwen Stefani. The film follows two trolls named Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) who go on a quest to save their village from destruction by the Bergens, giant creatures who eat Trolls to be happy.
Trolls premiered at the BFI London Film Festival on October 8, 2016, and was theatrically released in the United States on November 4, by 20th Century Fox. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and grossed $347 million worldwide against its $125 million budget. It received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song for "Can't Stop the Feeling!".
A sequel, Trolls World Tour, was released on April 10, 2020, while a third film, Trolls Band Together, was released on November 17, 2023.

When I saw the trailers for this movie, it was the first time I thought, "Yeah, I'm too old for this." But, now that I've seen it, I have to say, I love the song covers, and Branch is just such a great, relatable character. And some of the jokes and gags were actually pretty funny.

My nephew was obsessed with this movie and I watched it willingly with him all the time. Its one of those movies you cant help but enjoy. The music and everything is so fun and genuinely enjoyable

I’m happy you agreed with me that when poppy brought everyone into dudes bunker it wasn’t cool at all. He’d been saving up for so long for him to last down there while everyone else was being stupid. I didn’t like that she just invited everyone down there just to make it so he would come out and help her get the others back. Or whatever. It wasn’t cool at all.

I also thought the joke was, initially - the hardened survival bunker was to keep out Poppy - not Bergens.

True Colors hits me in the feels every time and I was definitely not expecting that the first time I saw Trolls.

This one caught me way off guard as well. My son loved it when he was a toddler, and watched it constantly, lol. So, of course, daddy had to watch with him. It really shocked me how much I ended up enjoying it, but I gotta say the second one....that one makes this one look bad in comparison. It was INCREDIBLE! I haven't seen the third yet, but I think I just might have to do that either tonight or tomorrow.

3 is that absolute BEST
So happy you mentioned the art design in this movie! One of my favourite things is how they try to translate environments into an arts&crafts vibe. Water being tinsel, sand being sequins, the clouds actually being made out of cotton puffs. The trailers don't do the movie justice -- they feel so money-grabbing and immature, and then the movie itself is so warm and silly and full of creativity!! The series is awesome, I hope you continue to binge all of them and have just as much of a good time as you did with this one B)
Mello, if you decide to watch the other two, I HIGHLY reccommend them! Also, don't worry, Poppy and Branch's relationship is teased, but they don't become an item till late in the 2nd movie. It's a bit of a slow burn, compared to other movie relationships.
Fun Fact: For Earth, Wind & Fire's "September", along with Justin and Anna, you can hear Earth, Wind & Fire singing the chorus 👌🏽👌🏽 That version is SOOOOO good 🔥🔥

Ok, so I have a question: Does only one person get a troll each year? It says they gather around the tree once a year to taste happiness. So, does everyone eat a troll each year? If so, how many trolls were killed before they escaped? Why did they wait till it was poppies turn to die before escaping?
A lot of them survived because if you saw the flashback in the third film the other trolls survived according to Clay/fun boy/3rd oldest of Branch and his brothers I’ll put them in order by age
John Dory oldest
Spruce/Bruce second oldest
Clay third oldest
Floyd forth oldest and finally Branch youngest
@SilasOsterwalder-yx3tj sorry but wrong, or at least doesn't answer the question. The trolls that survived where the ones escaping but blocked off from the regular escape route during the great troll escape. Which was when princess poppy was supposed to be eaten. But again they have been gathering around the troll tree for Year. So Cleary any where from one, to one per burgon was killed Every year for many years before they escaped the burgons. So why wait so long? Why only when it was poppies turn to die did they escape?
This movie got a soundtrack full of bangers. Can't Stop The Feeling is my absolute favorite. Can't wait to see the later movies with you man, and congrats on the 200K.
My favorite troll movie is the sequel and I highly suggest watching it. Favorite song in this movie is hard to pick but I would have to say "Get Back Up Again" and I use it in my workout playlist because it's so inspirational for me.
"O Brother, Where Art Thou?" is a great movie with George Clooney, John Goodman e John Turturro!

I absolutely love that movie.
By far the most surprising film. Everything about it is so weird and wonderful. I absolutely hated those Troll things growing up, as it just seemed like the laziest product imaginable.
In later movies we find out that other species are aware of the trolls existence and are friendly with them. So its wild to think that the bergens jumped into eating them
My daughter turned 2 the weekend before the 3 movie came out and the first week we watched it 3 times. And now we watch it every weekend. Trolls really took over our house and is becoming one of my favorite franchises bcuz it’s something me and my daughter can watch together all the time and I can’t wait for you to watch the next 2 movies. Part 3 was definitely my favorite one ❤❤
