Bellweather was essentially trying to force public support for making predators less than equal. The original script, reportedly, was a lot darker, with predators wearing shock collars that trigger if the predator gets too excited. This could be a possible consequence of "predators going savage and mauling prey civilians", all predators having to be controlled via the collars.
The original script also developed into a different plot surrounding Nick Wilde, when a doctor's appointment made him motivated to create an amusement park where predators could freely have fun without getting shocked. They got so used to us I would be sketching outside they would perch on me to rest. Adult ones would often would nest in our trees, and the little ones grew to have no fear of our family at all. It felt very special to be chosen as a recipient of their trust. Watching those flying glittering jewels are my fondest childhood memories.

Sure, all the ones affected by the plant were predators, but that isn't really anything to go off of. Judy very well could have chosen her words more carefully, because obviously what she said was going to plant a huge target on Predators' backs. Not her intention, but it should be pretty clear how the media takes things. Nick had every right to be upset. Imagine you go your whole life without hurting a fly, only for someone to say that your kind is slowly going insane, and just based on some random shit someone said, you're now being alienated.
I'll go even further. Zootopia depicts issues around race relations with more truth and nuance than almost any live action film about racism.
I was simping over Lola Bunny in the 90s and you're right about Judy and her mom
Now I want to have a spliced version of Zootopia with Blazing Saddles, referencing what you said near the end.
Just have that scene from Blazing Saddles where the governor is saying, "Have you gone berserk? Can't you see that that man is a..."
Then cut in the bit with Flash the Sloth from Zootopia, going, "Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-..."
Loved the shirt you were wearing. Perfect for the occasion.
My favorite animal is a wolf. My spirit animal is a bear. I’m heavy set, furry, like to eat almost anything, but can get pissed off and fight when I need to.
Bellweather’s plan made sense though. She said prey out numbered predators 10-1. If prey votes against predators like the lion mayor and vote in other prey they essentially take over and given their numbers all it would take is a little public outrage to make it happen.
Zootopia is such a good movie for everyone!
My spirit animal is a coyote! I’m very wary of people I don’t know and I’m scrappy 🤣
I’m also a Gemini ( the twins) so I have
I have a doubleheaded coyote tattoo on my arm!
Went with a couple of friends to see this in theaters and the whole theater was laughing at the DMV scene. To be fair half of the room was adults.
This is one of my favorite Disney movies. It's just so good!
17:17 and that arctic shrew looks like the Godfather's arctic shrew!
22:50 no Judy didn’t state the facts of the case it was based on an assumption
I saw this movie in the theater with my wife and kids and the sloth DMV scene had me laughing so hard my wife had to elbow me to shut up because I embarrassed her
That ending always gets me. NIIIICCCCCKKKKKK
2:37… yeah that brotha starving lol
Favorite animal: white tiger
Tommy Chong was awesome playing as Yax, owner of the naturalist club. He really gave Yax the mellow energy of a pure 60-70's hippie
Nick was the only ever animal that made me kinda a furry 😂
This is one of my favorite movies 🤩
Am i the only one who is gonna appreciate mellow rocking a bottle 🤣
I like your wine glass… 🍷 lol great reaction!! Great movie!! Last time disney made an “animals with clothes” film(i think..) it was Robin Hood.. 1973..
How much of that bottle did Mell consume for real during or before this reaction cause dude jumped STRAIGHT into furry land
You did too. Fear the furry.
It was always there. It just "awakened" something in him.🤣
This movie shares a lot of topics today like racism and bigotry as well as xenophobia but set in the animal world.
oh really? couldn't tell...
This movie is animated.
This movie uses the voices of famous actors and actresses, not the actual voices of animals.
This movie is a movie.
@@oduinn7948 Whaaat?? You’re joking. No fucking way. This whole time I thought it was a realistic documentary with real life animals who could actually talk 😱
I'd bet anything the sloths weird way of phrasing things is their passive aggressive way of saying "fuck you" to people that try to rush them.
Fun fact Nick's young voice is Kath Soucie who voices Lola Bunny
I didn't even realize Tommy Chong was the yak 🤣🤣🤣
Epic Movie! I really enjoy watching animated kids movies with other adults. We always pick up on messages that the kids don’t. Great reaction 🎉
This is a great movie, I had a great time watching this movie, your reaction was really entertaining to watch.
Zootopia had such a creative and well-realized setting and the premise is perfect for an ongoing series. I'm surprised they haven't announced one already.
I am all about your animation and classic cartoon movie reactions!
My favourite animal are hummingbirds. :) I used to be friend with a bunch of them as a kid/teenager because my great-grandmother taught me how to take care of flower bushes/trees in her garden, so they would always have food and shade through the year, and how to refill their drink mix so it would be safe for them.
You know what you should do Mel? You should make a reaction to a compilation of all the Pixar shorts. Chronological order style so you can check the animation and idea progression.
perfect movie!
Amazing that Disney had this movie and Moana come out the SAME YEAR! Moana is another perfect movie.
These two films made me wish that we could bring Walt Disney back for one day to let him see how far his studio and company has come.
Favorite animal is probably wolves but growing up was dolphins to a ridiculous extent.
I was hoping we would get to see cetaceans in this movie, but sadly it’s limited to terrestrials
And that ladies and gentlemen..is how you title a video. 🤣
The sloth is my spirit animal.
This is my comfort TH-cam video 😂
With the Breaking Baaaad bit, they also had Woolter and Jesse - for the shrew's pregnancy, they *do* have a very short gestation time!
I was wondering about the editing between you opening that wine bottle and it being nearly empty by 3 minutes in (to the video, not the movie), but clearly you drank it all xD
Had to get lit quick lml
22:24 I just noticed. A *sheep* reporter worked the narrative into the conversation.
your damn minecraft music when you talking wise KILLS ME
OMG is your shirt a Lion King/Stankonia mash-up? That is so fresh and so clean clean.
I can't see the cover of Stankonia with seeing the lion king lol
Well... it wasnt a fact that it was a biological thing so she wasnt stating the facts of the case she was making assumptions she had no right to make
I love the drinking mell videos its like watching a movie with your best friend and the editor adding him to the movie never fails to make me laugh. Brilliant channel
