M/S hovercraft HM2 in the water at rest. Interior shot of the passenger cabin - British Rail will use the hovercraft to ferry people between Southampton and the Isle of Wight. M/S engineer working on engine. Camera moves in to C/U of driver in driving position flicking on switches. M/S the hovercraft lifting out of the water and moving forward in a gathering cloud of spray. Panning shot as craft gathers speed, it shows the name on back of craft; "Sea Speed". C/U the driver's hands on wheel. Panning shot the "Sea Speed" hovercraft underway on the Solent.
