@Cat96 I reckon Mr G may have been to the same private school as Ja'mie. They don't teach the young people there to be snobs, but then again they don't teach them not to be.
He's exactly, exactly and exactly like some young teachers I have worked with. To those who think this is just comedy, it's not! More real than ever, reason why it's so funny!
Me too. Me and my husband still reference it all the time - especially the bit from the play where it's like, "'No, Jessica, don't get involved in drugs!' - 'It's too late, sir' - 'Noooo!'" for all kinds of things in daily life :P Oh and "can't you watch MTV for once" lol. It's just so referenceable. It's one of my top 5 comedies, for sure.... One of my favourite parts that tends to get overlooked is during the drug play, when Jessica and Celine die, and Celine gets taken up to heaven while Jessica is just put in a coffin XD It gets me every time.
The other teacher who hero-worships Mr G is hilarious too, gazing lovingly at his remarkable idol. This is really excellent comedy, but real enough that many people truly think it's a FOTW documentary. I recall my brother's attitude to The Office after watching a bit of the first episode was "I get enough of that office shit at work, all day every day; why would I want to watch a documentary about it in the evenings?". THAT is when you know a FOTW spoof has succeeded.
That makes me think of the show Utopia, another Aussie comedy... I was in Canada working in a government office when it came out, and I asked my manager (who was from Melbourne) what she thought of it, and she said she could hardly stand watching it cos it reminded her too much of a real workday XD
I had an english teacher who reminds me so much of Mr G😭 She would have us go outside in the front of the school and lay down on the concrete to “soak up the sunshine” and we’d have sharing circles daily. So many people would overshare, including my teacher, and it would be so awkward at times, hahahaha. Definitely a class and teacher I won’t forget, she was amazing!
oh my god his characters are so realistic. i had a teacher like this who was arrogant, judgy, perfectionist, etc but luckily i was his favorite student so i never got on his bad side.
K but this is literally my previous drama teacher😂 he would watch this with us over break and lunch at school and we'd always be like "this is actually you". Mr Coles, if you see this, you're the best!
There is no way in hell would I be able to keep a straight face with him meowing and dancing around in that pink thing. I've always had a sense that besides Rodney, nobody thinks Mr G is as important as Mr G does....the man wants a building literally the size of the Madison Square Garden constructed just for himself, and practically wants the entire Summer Heights High school knocked down! 😂😂😂
This is the problem with young people today everything has to be analysed and you've got to use all these technical words to make yourself sound smart . We just enjoyed the bloody show for what it was, we pissed ourselves laughing and we didn't have to do a complete analytical break down of every character just switch off for once and just enjoy the bloody show. just be an audience member for once instead of having to make it about you
Ya know what’s just occurred to me after all these years? There’s a Greg Gregson (Mr G) and a Mrs Murray in the show. Greg Page and Murray Cook were 2 of the original wiggles and I’m a major fan of theirs!
Before the internet we had real entertainers that spent their entire life perfecting their art form to entertain people unfortunately that's gone now .
I love his subtle hate for everyone “I do the wow shows that she can’t handle”
I literally cannot wrap my head around how he is this funny
@Cat96 Both are Chris Lilley arent they anyways?
@@jeremysmith54565 yeah
Agree! Fantastic acting and hilarious
@Cat96 I reckon Mr G may have been to the same private school as Ja'mie. They don't teach the young people there to be snobs, but then again they don't teach them not to be.
I miss all the old comedy shows where they did skits and characters, used to be loads back in the 90s and 00s.
"if anyone touches ANY of my food I will consider it theft and it will become a police matter." absolutely makes me lol every time
That “disappointed in you this week” to Jessica kills me everytime
He’s honestly the goat
Cracks me up every time too used to quote that all the time to people 😂
Absolutely side splitting hilarity. He is so fucking talented. I wish more Americans knew of him
"Not good!"
The “reow reow reow reow” scene is one of the funniest things ever
That’s how we communicate w our cat ever since we first saw this 😂
@@sarahsolarez1626 I love it
And the sheet dance 🤣
REOWWW REOW ROEW- XD
The drama syllabus he has to cover: REOW!
How most of those kids can stay stone faced I don't know how... it's just too much lol. I love Mr. G!
artofvoice The bloopers on the DVD back in the day had the school kids laughing in them. It was hilarious!
The special needs kids stayed in character great.
You can see a couple of them starting to break when he’s doing the “Reeeeowww!” scene at 2:39
The headmistress is so good in this show. She's so professional and has the patience of a Saint haha
Fun fact, she was the actual principal at the school they used for the location of the show!
Agree. She’s amazing
I guessed that! So funny cos her, her name, demeanour, everything is so perfect its like its scripted!
“Thank god you’re here, grandma’s been raped” lmao
"She's been dead for ages" 😂😫
The best Mr.G moment is every Mr.G moment
“Anti rape mural.” Gets me everytime 😭😂
I can't believe I never noticed the note "If anyone touches *ANY* of my food, I will consider it theft and it will become a police matter" 😂😂
💀💀
Why doesn't Mr G have his own individual show yet?
+DamonDeLarge yeah i really hope he's working on it
+DamonDeLarge agreed! He deserves one...
True!
where is this annoucement?
DamonDeLarge its coming out soon
He is an absolute comedic genius
"she's been dead for ages" OMG HAHAHAHAHHAHA
The passive aggressive signs lmao
"...i will consider it theft and involve the police." hahah
everytime i feel a bit shit, i watch some Mr. G. Chris Lilley's best character!!!!
Same!
ja'mie is better
Alice Daly no way
So every day since 2020 then basiclly
"I'm gonna slap you Emily!"
Not okay 😂
okay
He's exactly, exactly and exactly like some young teachers I have worked with. To those who think this is just comedy, it's not! More real than ever, reason why it's so funny!
rosemaravilha I agree this is so close to reality of public education
rosemaravilha i'd love a teacher like him
If i was a teacher i would be like mr g
young people tend to be more narcissitic
Yeh alot of teachers under 40 are like this before the job breaks them and thry become miserable bores lol.
Omg, I love it when he dances with the mask on. Hahahahaha
The ultimate😹!!
Or the bag/garment bag covering him from head to toe
It’s 2023 and he’s still making me laugh like no other.

"Thank god you're here, where have you been bitch?"
Claire Lavers how good would it be if chris Lilley was on thank god your here
i love how scarily similar this show is to how school really is... even 11 years later and it is still overly relatable
Fine.
not fine.
fine.
not fine
Toby winks when he says 'fine' the second time
Anti-rape mural lmao
I lost it there.
What's great is that you know that mural was already there in real life, and then he made up a backstory during filming!
And one of the male figures is doing a thumbs up lmao
The other teacher who hero-worships Mr G is hilarious too, gazing lovingly at his remarkable idol. Dj Marshmellow *kermit
"Wherve you been beitch" gets me every damn time.
"hold it morons" omg i die at that hahahahahahaa
So good, the subtlety and nuance that he brings to his performances are amazing!
He's essentially the Australian teacher version of David Brent 😂
Ah no.
How do people not find this hilarious. I don’t understand.
I forgot about this show, so glad I stumbled upon it again! Hilarious!
I think Australia found this to be one of the funniest things ever on Australian TV not sure where you got that from

Slap the butcher!!😂😂
Lol
Love this so much from Scotland
New fan from Scotland. You guys do comedy in such great ways! ❤😂
Literally the smartest, cleverest, funniest writing was done by this man.
Why do you say literally you goofy? It cant be figuratively the smartest.
“Thank god you’re here , Grandmas been raped”
hahahahaha i was wondering if someone would comment that
7:37
I love how funny and loud he is in all his shows but in real life he’s really quiet and peaceful
Fine... Not fine

The first time i saw the bit when he said "Thank God you're here, Grandma's been raped" i lost my shit.
I still lose my mind every time I see it haha

Mr G is pure genius. Touch his Tupperware and it will become a police matter.
These shows are genius.... Love all his characters....
His condescending look when he says it's Meredith's turn this year🤣🤣🤣
If Stewie Griffin was a real person
J C this is incredibly accurate
I'm going to bed early tonight.

In my all-time favourite comedy characters list.
- Alan Partridge
- David Brent
- Larry David
- Murray Hewitt

Top tier list lol
Murray is a classic.
Fuck yeah Murray Hewitt is a legend
2:30 why did i spit out my coke laughing at this so much ahaha 😂
Because it is hilarious😹😹😹
If you dont know why how will anyone else?
Let's be honest all of Mr G's moments are his best
He is the most gifted actor that's ever lived
Watching from 2007 to 2024 💟
mr. G needs his own show
Christopher Howe 4 years later he’s making a new show it drops Friday but it’s not for Mr G
Chris Lilly is so talented. He’s such a genius and he is so funny. I just don’t know how he does it
"fine.. Not fine.."
2:26, those kids looking down are trying so hard not to piss themselves laughing 😂😂😂
“We had to have the bushes removed. Top down.” Dead.
Mr G is a vile queen
I swear Australians are the best craic ever 🤣🇮🇪 🇦🇺

Ja’mie, Mr G and Jonah should all be in a classroom together
Back in high school when this came out I would quote Mr g endlessly. This takes me back,I needa start quoting him again 😂
"It's not free time, it's Gee time" was one of my favourite lines.😂
“Grandma’s been raped.” Get me every time 😅
The principal plays that part soooooo sooooo well. Like 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Kudos to those child actors for keeping a straight face because I would have been sobbing from laughter 😂
I can imagine there was a lot of takes ,such a brilliant show.
“ the dish fairies are on long service leave” 😂😂😭
how does mr g not have his own show?!?!?!??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's my favorite character of all time...
''This is Toby one of our specials'' A teacher myself, I just can't tell you how wrong Mr. G's choice of words is XD
GET OUT 😂😂😂
FML all these years and it's still hilarious
Mr G is a token narcissist. Its actually fascinating to watch as well as hilarious

any chris lilley character is top tier
The funniest of the three main characters in my opinion..disappointing that he didn't get his own show.
This guy has me crying with laughter 😂😂😂😂😂
i have known people like this - so clever how you put a mirror on society
This guy is a legend!
Mr. G needs a show. Simply brilliant.
