The first North Santiam Whitewater challenge was sponsored by the North Santiam Chamber of Commerce and the North Santiam River Guides Association president at the time was Marvin Sandberg on April 28, 1963. Marvin was my father and I have the newspaper articles, advertisement posters and videos to back this information.
