Pam honestly is great this season, I love Pam every time she appears but honestly its always fun seeing her take the spotlight and her role in this one made that pretty much every episode. Her, Archer, Mallory and Krieger are pretty much the highlights of this season, and it saves the season from being bad.

The writing is so good that the characters are adaptable to almost any setting, be it 1930s LA, a galaxy far far away, or a tropical island in the early 20th century. No matter where they are, or what bodies they inhabit, the relationships and dialogue between the characters is pretty top notch. That's why I love to see them switch it up. Seasons 3 and 4 were peak Archer in terms of the original format, but I was equally entertained watching them fail as a cartel, run a PI agency, and screw around in space. For me, the brilliance of this show always comes back to the characters.
And this folks is why we don't try To Shimmy down wooden States when we are tied to them behind our back naked. Listen to Pam she knows how to survive. We should all be so lucky to have an incredible beautiful goddess of equal parts fertility and absolute destruction somehow bless our lives even in the slightest, but Archer he doesn't even notice he basically has the goddess of Sex and Death at his side.

I believe the last episode of the season reveals all this information. Season 10 has him walking around with a cane, as he continues to recover from his injuries.

Danger Island was the second Coma Season. don’t remember which one, but in one season, Archer laughed “Nobody can survive getting shot 7 times” when in fact - Spoiler Alert - Archer DID get shot in the chest 7 times. While he did miraculously survive THAT, he was rendered comatose. thus; Dreamland, Danger Island, and 1999
