With over 5,850 skiable acres, 4,350 vertical feet, 300 runs, 39 lifts, over 400 inches of annual snowfall on average, Big Sky Resort is true to its name.
And for ski patroller, Rachael Efta, this is her home. After making the leap from art school in San Francisco to ski patrolling in Big Sky, Montana, she joined a team of 40 people who open the mountain every day. From avalanche control to rescue calls, it's the Big Sky Ski Patrol's responsibility to make sure everyone is safe on the mountain, every single day. And she can’t imagine life without it.
