  • Shrouded in clouds, we had no idea what we were missing on our way to Valdez so when we got a clear day, we took advantage! Glaciers, waterfalls, and blueberries galore.

    All this traveling is giving your kids a far better education than any school in the US! I mean they got a glacier experience & education, then go berry picking, then they learn about the gold rush and animal feces identification…what school offers that kind of education?? NONE! Good job Mom & Dad!!

    Your kids are so lucky to be able to this. I did a lot of drives with my dad in Minnesota to places like the North Shore on Lake Superior, and many falls like Gooseberry on these trips he would talk about his time in 1941 42 working as an engineer on the Alaskan Highway which was built in one years time in WW2. IN late July I drove all the way from Florida to the Canadian Border which was supposed to open on August 11th. Well it didn't open so I had to return without being able to drive the Alaskan Highway. I drove there in my F350 and Cirrus truck camper. I was going to sell it but maybe I'll try it again in the spring. We'll I'm so happy for your nice family.

    Not only did the muffins look great the pan you used is pretty cool. I have had bad luck with that type of pans not lasting.

    Spectacular...
    Spouse calls those Blueberries Lowbush (And they are the better tasting blueberries)
    Looking at the calendar, you have possible another 20 days or so before you need to worry about snow in the passes coming south. I'm hoping you are thinking about that as you explore Alaska (It's expensive to take the Ferry back)

      Johns contract goes to Sept 18th and then we'll be booking it back down to the lower 48.

      Thanks! We came through Canada in May. John is an essential worker as an ICU Travel Nurse. It was a great many hoops to jump through but we made it!

    What kind of bed cover do you use for your truck and is it lockable? Having a hard time finding a good one for a RAM with RAMCARGO boxes.

    Seeing stories of rationing care in Alaska d/t Covid. Are you seeing that there?

    • @NoOrdinaryPath
      @NoOrdinaryPath  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kristin here - I know it's been crazy busy on "covid island" as they are calling it in the ICU unit where John works. He'll be doing a recap soon of this contract as he wraps up his last two days.

    • @NoOrdinaryPath
      @NoOrdinaryPath  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John here: short answer, yes. But its beginning now more so than ever. The increase of cases this last week has been exponential.

      @@NoOrdinaryPath Ugh! I can't understand why our government officials aren't believing those who are working on the front lines and are crying for help. Their heads are in the sand!
