The reason the water isn't blue is probably because the bottom isn't white/light colored sand. If it's darker sand, rock, mud, or grass, even clear water will look brown or green.
We just got back from our trip. What an adventure! From Florida to Thailand. First of course was Bangkok, then flew to Chiang Mai. Then flew to Hua Hin. And then back to Bangkok. Visited 14 malls in the three cities. A temple in Chiang Mai. Visited night markets. Rode the BTS and MRT. My wife loved the food!

@@thetiredlinecook Hope some day to retire there. I have a lot of medical issues that tie me to the US, but the cost of living in the US is outpacing my social security. My wife is from the Philippines and that is an option too. Somehow I see Southeast Aisa in my future.

Hua Hin wins over Chiang Mai for us
I have to do that, even traveling in the US .. Hotels won't match the Online Booking Rate .. so I have to book, last min, sitting in my car in front of the hotel ..

Yeah any place with monkeys is a non starter for us 😉 That aside Hua Hin sure has gotten more popular in recent years
Yes, those monkeys can be vicious. Not like they're portrayed in Hollywood films.
The lack of a "beach road" is a non-starter for me.
