How can Lavinia Blackwall make the existential hopelessness of our present situation sound so beautiful? This apocalyptic poetry with all it's moving observations, melts my tiny anxious heart and fill me with tears of joy and loss in equal measure. It's a pleasure to exist in these end times despite everything. It's like appearing on the last track of a incredibly long album. What a song.
Heard this on R6 Riley and Coe while driving home from a late shift at work. Such a beautiful song musically and lyrically. The song gave me a sense of something timeless. And a sense of a deeper forgotten wisdom and of course a great sadness. It’s really a magical thing.
Heard this on Stuart Maconie's freak zone without hearing who it was or when it was from and just assumed it was from the 70's. Has a real feel of Curved Air or Trees. Wonderful old folf feel, lovely pure voice, great lyrics, a melody from days of old somehow...love it! ( BTW, works well with Moonlight Shadow)
Just discovered this song on RadMac on 6Music this morning & instantly loved it. Have been playing it on a loop this afternoon & now I’ve watched the video, am off to raid my dress patterns for a similar dress, it’s fabulous!
This was just what I needed to hear today. You don't even know what a balm that was for my aching heart that is going through some very painful stuff at the moment. Your music heals, soothes and touches me in the same way that all my favourite songwriters do e.g Beatles, Kinks, Bowie. It speaks to my soul. You have a voice of an angel and your melodies are up there with the true greats. You are a musical genius and I am in total awe of your talent. Thank you for doing what you do. Keep doing it! Can't wait to hear the new album x
@@TheStoneTapeSimulacrum thanks for your interest! The single was a digital release only. It will be on the vinyl album coming out in February 2025. In the meantime I have other stuff available here: laviniablackwall.bandcamp.com/music
