That's not a correct notion. Rajasthani music is much loved. Marwari songs are sung in a lot weddings & Rajasthani folk & sufi songs like this one are considered iconic. The popularity of Punjabi is a mass-lingo & party song sort of popularity. That is great, but Rajasthani holds it's own. It's marvellous.

@@RhythmicAJ I appreciate your sentiments. I agree Rajasthani can get more popular. That said we have had popular Rajasthani singers. Ila Arun comes off the top of my head. Songs like Ghoomar, Thane Kajaliyo, Banna re... are regularly heard in weddings & even discs.

I think she's gonna perfect her genre and queen ellie would want to collaborate with her, and they'd be back as bandish bandits cause that's what the show's all about, fusion.

This series was just awesome..ritwik and shreya n even other supporting characters were too good ...the music the songs like mastiyappa,sajan bin,chedkaniyaan, couple goals were much more better than today's remakes n I think that chedkaniyaan was almost like the theme song ..the best part was the classical music n songs never I had loved classical music but hats off to the director n the team....n the love chemistry was just lit......ritwik 'a smile was just heart killing he was soo charming n handsome n shreya to hot to handle ......n the way they depicted rajasthan especially jodhpur was soo good I just fell in love with rajasthan n its beauty .....people normally go abroad but miss the real beauty which is in india itself I thank the director to just make me fall in love in rajasthan......the last scene was truly unbelievable. ..the rain song ...n the very last part was very heart breaking. ..I request the director to plssss bring up the second season plssss...never had I knew what were web series but the trailer of bandish bandits made me to see ot n this is my first web series. ..a binge worthy series .....n the experience of my first web series was just awesome thanks to Amazon, the director, the cast, n all the other team members love u ull

I want to know how shankar mahadevan ji can go on so high notes and still has voice as sweet as honey. Most of singers singing in high range have amazing voice but only shankar sir has such sweet voice. Absolutely beautiful.

Same here I guess , in season 2 , as tamanna was talking about to join music school, she will join Digvijay's music school and after learning singing, she will be opponent of Radhe in next samgit samrat.
We grew up listening to these songs. My generation mostly listened to pop and remix music, MJ, Indi albums etc The early and late 90's.. I was called a pappa for listening to indian classics. And today everyone goes gaga over the same songs and have been remade multiple times.

As much as I enjoyed this rendition and respect Shankar Mahadevan, I think this was an opportunity lost for a local folk singer- a Rajasthani folk singer voice would have lifted this further and have more accurately represented the region's flavor. Absolutely in love with this version though.
