- Lead by the spirit of the mysterious Storyteller, these village inhabitants are in a desperate fight for their lives against a truly evil demon and their minion. The problem is no one knows who that demon is, someone's completely smashed on the town's supply of grog and it's all getting a bit confusing... This is Blood on the Clocktower.

I wish this had subtitles. The room is so echoey, it makes it hard to hear.
Watching Wheels slowly piece everything together was fantastic. So happy he finally figured out his drunkenness in the end.
It's Ben! He runs a great game. I had the pleasure of playing in one of his Blood on the Clocktower games in Nottingham last year!
Man, that was fun. Wheels was simultaneously the spanner for not realizing he was drunk for quite awhile but also extremely helpful for the good guys. So happy we got this Let's Play.

Wow. This looks like an amazing social deduction game. It has the appeal of everyone having a power (like One Night Ultimate series), it allows dead players to still be able to participate (like Donner Dinner Party), and best of all it has a moderator that actually has agency in writing the story of the game to make it more interesting. I already enjoy being the moderator for something like Ultimate Werewolf, but I think this would easily replace it (which I'm cool with because I'm hooked on the One Night version).
Thanks for making this video! I really enjoyed it. I didn't mind the quality of the sound--I understood everything said with no issue. If you do another the only thing I'd suggest is having the night phase stuff on screen for longer, but it's really not an issue since you can just pause the video to process it. This is the sort of game I'd easily watch a series of plays of.
really loved this game/video. would love to see it done again with more players! The sound was hard to listen to, probably needs subtitles, for when the players talk (the gamemaster was clear enough though)
This looks like you guys had fun, but I have no idea what’s going on. Subtitles, miccing people individually, and a multi-camera setup with some editing for private conversations, simultaneous conversations, etc, would go a long way. I just watched Ben on the No Rolls Barred playthrough, that was really well done. I had no idea he had those massive dreads though!

I thought that if the mayor was alive with only three left, then the game would be a cinch, but actually that's when the game became the most interesting.

I'd love to play this game! Great presentation and Presenter (Ben! Sweet dreads!) Though audio was hard to distinguish at times.

Did you see the latest oxventure? At the end they presented him with a DMG signed by all the game creators and he looks like he's about to break down on stage. It's the sweetest thing I've ever seen.

I think the nail in the coffin for the evil team is when the baron refused to claim a role, basically admitting that they were evil, this destroyed any world where the mayor was lying because the empath was basically cleared and the only way for the mayor to be the demon is if the empath was the minion
Yeah, not the best option. Ben even helped evil out by killing the empath to try and put shade on the mayor
Very surprising the good team won that! Well done! Showing both evil players to the drunk librarian as the Saint is borderline cruel :p. An interesting tactic could have been showing both evil players as the recluse, and when the actual recluse comes out, they’ll look dodgy!

I imagine this would be great for people familiar with hidden roles games and looking for a twist. I however found this confusing and difficult to follow. Also you couldn't always make out what was being said. It does look fun however so keeping this in mind for a few years down the line.
I feel like none of the games we play when the game finally lands will ever be as Epic as a Ben-Run game.

Clavan Dsouza once the monk died and she was told no evil players bordered her, she should’ve deduced who the Imp was immediately (since the librarian and the mayor border her and the imp is the only other person alive still).
You guys should absolutely play this with the outside xbox crew. That would be so much fun.

@@mar_speedman it is not random. The ST chooses if they want to. The first time, Mayor deserves their ability to work. Second time was actually the only choice that gave evil a chance.

They do. Or at least, Alex got told who her minion was at the start.

Probably. If she was the only one that tried to defend the baron, it would have been pretty suspicious.
Yep! I have played as Imp before and often kill my minions if they are starting to look suspicious. It’s a risky move but I did win a game by playing it like that before. 👌🏻
Also worth noting the Imp can kill themselves in the night and pass it on to a minion if they feel like the heat is too high.

The imp Targetted the mayor. The mayor sometimes can be chosen not to be killed in place of another person. That's why she died

i came from Oxveture vids, love em real much. But Dicebreaker's... most of the time i barely can read the words in cards and sometime people talk so softly almost whisper, hard to make up what you guys actually saying and in this vid particularly soo many echos >_

Alex is a pretty bad player at this. She threw under the bus her minion and she took forever to play the saint role. I’m actually surprised how she managed to last so long.

This sound quality is inexcusable. It’s pretty goddamn ballsy for Gamer Network/ReedPop to accept superchats from viewers when this video makes it abundantly clear that they’re not giving any of that money to their channels for any kind of sound dampening or audio engineering budget; or a studio that’s wider than IKEA’s cheapest sofa.
Also, why does Jamaican Kevin Smith have a personal mic and the people actually playing don’t? C’mon guys, this could’ve been great, but it sounds like someone recorded a night school improv class on a water-damaged Windows Phone. Jesus Christ!
Though pretty harsh, I kind of agree. I had a really hard time hearing what the people were talking about and that took me out of it a little.
Assuming this is another part of the Gamer Network offices, it's probably the biggest, emptiest space they could find. We know that they have at least 2 small studios all ready setting up, but neither would fit this number of people.
We have only seen 3 lavalier mics in one video and it wouldn't be superising they shot videos at different times, maybe sharing equipment. More evidence that equipment is shared between teams would be the increase in the stands mounted mics seen in OX videos, as if the lavalier mics are broken or already in use.
They will have decided to use the lavalier on the GM/story teller as he moves around a lot more then the rest of the players and it would be harder to pick up from the camera mounted mics.
It costs at least £80 (and easily more) per transmitter and receiver pack, so giving each person one would be over £600 in audio equipment for just one video. Considering we don't normally see Gamer Network videos of this scale, outside of large events, it's not too unreasonable to say that they got what equipment they could get before filming.
TLDR it's an unusual video, it's expensive to buy AV equipment for ever possible use case and I need to go crack on teaching this.
