Great finds, thanks for sharing. I would definitely call that pendant. Considering the type of stone and polishing, but also the placement of both holes. The intent was undoubtedly to drill it through. Congrats on your first pendant, and best of luck on the next. 👍👍
Awesome hunts! It looks like the mud on the banks is improving a little. Congrats on the Gorget, even though it isn't finished, those are hard to come by. That "nutter" is a real nice one. I agree, I think they are fire starting tools, which unintentionally make good nut cracking stones. Each hole would have taken a good amount of work to make and if they were made to be nutting stones, they wouldn't have put pits on both sides of the stone because you can only use one side to crack nuts at a time. Good luck on your next hunt!
You made very good finds my friend. I really liked the first one, the one you called benton, the perforated rock and the rock with several holes that could be used to start a fire. I was glad to accompany you friend. BLESSINGS ALWAYS.
I'm learning soooo much from you! Thank you for taking the time to construct and upload these videos! Really awesome, inspiring stuff man!! I really love it!!!
Glad to see you back out again... you and the IRS hunting together, that's a deadly combination. I wouldn't even call that pendant a heartbreaker since it wasn't broken, just unfinished...still cool as hell. Hopefully the river gets right and you can get back on them soon.
It’s definitely going to be good this weekend been jealous seeing all the boat traffic while I’m having to work. That pendent is just crazy because it was so close to being finished. I’m still happy with it though.
@@RiverRatArtifacts Yeah, I'm with you man, I had to work all weekend too, and it looks like the river is forecast to shoot back up next week. The Memorial Day crowd will hunt the heck out of it today. But at least I have a couple hundred acres of fields disced to hunt next week.
This has been the best weekend so far. I was hoping the water would stay down for a few days so I could hunt the water lines in a few areas but it seems like it would be a least next week or so.
Awesome finds bud, nice variety of materials, I found a preform hematite pendant in a creek near my house a few years ago, a very polished oval shaped piece of hematite, they started to drill through but didn’t complete it for whatever reason, it also has little pin holes around the outside like it was some sort of design, not complete but one of the coolest artifacts I’ve ever found, congrats on all the finds, God Bless & GL&HH!!!👊🏹
Thanks we find a wide variety of different types of stuff in our area. Haven’t found any hematite . But that’s the joy in it all you just never know what will be laying out there next.
@@RiverRatArtifacts absolutely, I found a broke hematite point a few months ago, it’s very water worn and you can’t really see any detail in it, it took me a minute to figure out it was hematite, I’ve never seen a point made out of hematite before, this particular creek was a village site I believe, found 3 drilled pieces in that section of creek too, two complete pieces, what I thought was a pottery pendant but people have since told me is a spindle whorl, one drilled piece that I’ve never positively identified, possibly a boat stone and what I believe is a broken tubular bannerstone, found that within yards of where I found that hematite blade, it’s very hard to find artifacts in creeks around here, hardly any debutauge or anything but this particular creek is absolutely loaded with artifacts so I’m pretty certain it was a village site, biggest pottery sherds I’ve ever came across as well, I wait every few months to see if anything has washed up, it would be nice if all the creeks around here were holding artifacts like that, anyway bud, thanks for sharing, Happy Memorial Day!!!
We are lucky enough to have some great areas we have places that are just littered with flint and chert it you could spend hours on. Hopefully you will have a good memorial weekend and happy hunting!
The side of what you called the nut stone looked like an image. If you kinda blurr your eyes and use your imagination you see those 2 indents (eyes) overlapping, with ears just outside the eyes all in line and then the mouth centered below the eyes. . A monkey? Lol
Not a pendant in my opinion. You'll find those same channeled grooves just like that on certain grinding stones used as handy multi tools. The grooves would be from grinding down and shaping bone and stone Awl's. Even the hole itself would have been used to shape and bring a point to the tip. Thats why the one hole itself "wasn't finished". They didn't want that small hole on the one side to get any bigger. I have a couple small hematite celts that were used the same way, as multi tools. Its cooler than a pendant in my opinion! Good work and great saves!
Great opinion I’ve never thought about that. I bet we only know a fraction of what the Native American culture used in relation to tools and technology
I work mechanical electrical maintenance and also Farm. So I spend a lot of time working on stuff. And I tend to get off work and go to the river quite often. 🤣
@@waltglow6396 I’ve only found one complete axe and two pendent pieces neither one are drilled all the way through. So I agree that they are definitely are to come by
Great saves!! Shame on the pendant still awesome!!! The pitted stone is a killer!!! Nice color to it!!!

Heck yeah, man 💥!! Love the pendant piece !!
Killer finds buddy !! ✌🍀
great finds .. thanks for sharing .. peace
Great finds that was really cool stuff
Y’all had a good day of it man. Good work

Thanks I’m definitely glad to have been lucky enough to have found those pieces in the condition that the river was in.

One side of the nutting stone almost looks like a face! Great finds.

Great video! Well done.
Thank you!
The pendent is killer regardless if they finished it or not?! Woweeee! Good Finds
Thank you. I’m excited with it finished or not I guess just more curious about why it was so close to being finished.
Amazing finds, thanks for sharing
I could keep my pills 💊 in there 😂😂

That big blade looks like they couldn't get the stacks off,,
Yeah and the material is that grainy chert not sure what it’s called but I’ve rarely seen anything that was well made out of it.
Nice finds!
natural formation. water worked out a weak spot, just coincidentally looks like a pendant
Please show us your effigies 😅😅
@@lesjones5684 I’ve never found one .
Do you ever find effigies 😅

Yes! So clear. And all within the lighter colored section. That was planned.
(Or maybe a squatch😊)
On the pendent, they were grinding it down to thin it for drilling faster. They never finished it or gave up?
Kind crazy it was so close to not be finished
I subbed to ya, good hunt and artifacts.

I hunted South Jersey from 1969 to 1990 never found a pendent or a complete stone axe.☹

That what you are calling a possible pendant which there's no markings on it I think it would have been a net weight ✝️✝️✝️
