When I'm making cakes, especially novelty ones, I find it hard to carve because my cakes get really crumbly when I start to cut into them. Is there anything you suggest to stop this? and also how long does it normally take for your cakes to cool down completely, roughly? :D

I can be much easier yes, but tricky in terms of getting all the measuring right - just have fun with it! Working with fondant is never easy, it take time!

+Sweety Tooth My cake recipe doesn't do this - but many do! You also need your cakes to be COMPLETELY cool, and let them cool in their pans. xo

Ok, so I wanna make this for my grandparents but I don't have the cutters for the fancy detail...any idea of what to do?
Just use what you have, it's not that hard to substitute the tools
Use small heart shaped cookie cutters or star shaped ones! If you don't have those, the box would still look great!
you could cut the fondant into triangle and in the middle of each triangle you cut a little hole shaped like a heart (sorry for my english)
