  • This song came in 2nd on the "Heavily Requested" poll. Great harmony (that's why it's in their name!) and rapping. I love Bizzy.

The "sample" you're hearing at the intro of the song is "Tender Love" by a group called Force MDs. The MAIN music you hear throughout the song is an interpolation of "Making love in the Rain" by Janet Jackson and Herb Alpert.

@@ABoomerReacts I’d recommend “Mo’ Murda” and “East 1999” for the list for sure!
Other favorites of mine are “Shoot ‘em up”, “Eternal”, and “Down ‘71”. Not sure if you saw, but E.1999 Eternal was nominated for a Grammy, may be worth a full album listen.
I actually put Crossroads and Days of our Lives in the middle-bottom of the pack of my favorite Bone songs.

@@ABoomerReacts Fair point, however "Mo Murda" would be one that Bone Thugs fans would definitely know. I say that one would be worth putting on a poll. Eternal and Down 71 are much deeper cuts off the same album, so i don't think those would necessarily be worth the poll. but Mo Murda is one of their best known album cuts. Shoot Em Up may also surprise you with it's fan base.

The samples of song where big R&B Hits in the 80's "Tender Love" by Force MD's and "Making Love In Rain" by Herb Alpert feat. #Subscribed.... I subscribed bcz of your Bone thugs reaction as in a huge fan and have been since 1994. Your breakdown and analysis of the song was another reason I subscribed as it was great. You mentioned omnipresent, gospel, angelic, gospel in description of the song. Bone thugs definitely has a spiritual side to their music and I would love to see your reaction to their most spiritual song too date which is "Order My Steps" ft. Yolanda Adams. She's a well known gospel singer. This song doesn't glue Bizzy but I'm sure you will be able to appreciate it.

Just want to add that Eazy-E never changed Bone name. Out of respect for him, they added onto their already "BONE" name (which has several meanings). In the late 80s, the group went by "The Bandaid Boys". Around 1991, they became "Bone Enterprise". In 1993, they dropped the "Enterprise" from their name and simply went by "Bone".
After releasing local underground projects as teenagers, Bone moved to LA in 1993 via a Greyhound bus, in search for success and in hopes of landing a record deal (Eazy-E being their first choice). A few months later, after moving around in LA, the guys finally got in contact with Eazy, Krayzie Bone rapped for him over the phone. He asked where they're from. Bone replied, "Cleveland". He then replied and said that he had a show coming up in Cleveland.. Bone traveled back to their hometown of Cleveland, talked to the promoters of the show (who happened to be acquaintances), and they were allowed to open the show. Eazy didn't witness their performance, so several Bone members snuck backstage and rapped for him and his crew. Eazy recognized them from the phone call, the group made their way back to LA, and signed to his label, "Ruthless Records". While in the process of recording their first official mainstream project, "Creepin On Ah Come Up", Bone recorded a song called "Thugs N Harmony" (unreleased). Eazy said "that should be y'all name! 'Thugs N Harmony'..You're thugs who rap and sing."
The group refused to drop "Bone" from their name, as it represented the family last name (Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Flesh Bone), but the Bone members respected Eazy so much, they all decided to add "Thugs N Harmony" to it...and the rest is history! Lol, a little Bone history for you.

A good reaction track would be "Hard Times" by Krayzie bone.
It's a little off the beaten path, despite being included on the beloved Art Of War album. Even if you don't do a video on it, it's absolutely worth a listen. It's just Krayzie Bone over a sample of "Love Between A Boy And Girl", and it's about as perfect a marriage as you can get between an artist and the sample IMO.

man, you have such great insight in your reaction. Your analysis is correct with the this omnipresent church-style vibe and comfort to the situations no matter how dark. Never looked at this song that way, but that is how Bone does their music in general. You are somewhat right about the lyrics in general, but once you get an ear you can hear everything. The biggest issue is the slang, it is required to know that, otherwise, it's impossible to know. But don't forget, this song was on the radio (a GOLD single in it's first few months) in 96 and there was no internet lyrics available but we knew every single lyric and their actual meaning (some of us) you'd be surprised how down to earth even the shocking lines actually are
