If you are one to keep up with the latest in the automaker world, then you have already heard about the all-new Honda WR-V. This compact SUV made its debut in the Indonesian market sometime in November 2022. However, it had not yet started production, and most exports were planned for 2023. And so, this year, the 2023 Honda WR-V joined the market, and so far, it is quite impressive.
The Honda WR-V is an interesting prospect, and it has an in-style body style that wears a very strong badge in Malaysia. But in terms of size and price, it sits just below the B-segment Honda HR-V. In Indonesia, this Honda will face off against cars like the Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize, which are somehow twins. In addition, these two cars are sisters of the Perodua Ativa, which just increases the competition.
When you look at the new Honda WR-V, you will see that it has a model design and style that represents some of the larger changes from its predecessor. In addition, the second-generation model is more in line with the style of Honda’s current generation of global SUVs. At least with this new generation of the Honda WR-V, Honda has done away with the crosshatch look that was in the previous generation model. Now, it comes with a more upright and muscular look.
The international version of the 2023 Honda WR-V RS comes with a 1.5-liter engine that can produce a maximum power of 121 horsepower at 6,600 rpm. In addition, it can produce a maximum torque of about 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. This is quite impressive for such a small SUV. This petrol engine can either be paired with a five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. However, they all come with front-wheel drive as the standard setup.
Honda’s Sensing Safety Suite is not standard for the E trim, but it is available in the top variant, which is the RS. This safety suite gives the car many safety features, including ADAS plus LaneWatch with a camera in the left-wing mirror. There are also six airbags and automatic headlamps to ensure you are not driving in the dark.
Honda did great when it revealed the all-new 2023 WR-V compact SUV. However, this one is specifically for the Indonesian market.
