I know! at 3:20, I love how it looks like she's cradling her baby. ADORABLE!
The mother would like to call: 'Would someone like to get a naughty child for free?' But five minutes later her heart is crying and she wants it back. :)
At 2:00 the mother seems alert to some kind of threat. It's getting dark and she doesn't want the baby too far from the herd's protection. But the baby is like all kids at the pool; "NO I DON'T WANNA GO HOME!".
"Nooooo!" "Yes, we're leaving." "Nooo, just a little more!" "I mean it - we're leaving!" And then the oldest ploy - "But I need a drink first!"
I could totally hear mom muttering, "Stubborn ass kid" to herself under her breath lol.
Your mum? Poor child.

When I took this video, Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe was going through a heat wave with mid-day temps around 40 degrees celsius. The wildlife in Hwange are always short of water as there is no natural water in the late dry season and so rely on well water to be artificially pumped for them. The elephant, especially calves were severely dehydrated and were overheating. you'll see how she shepherds her calf and pushes him face first into the mud. Elephants regulate their body temperature by pumping blood through their large ears, which cools them. By wetting their ears it helps them to cool. The calf in the video was severely dehydrated and disorientated hence moms best efforts to cool him down. Thank you all for your great comments, Im glad you enjoyed the video.

Little tike just wants to lay in the cooling mud bath. Love how mommy was gentle and patient. She didn’t beat him with her trunk, just guided him along, tantrum and all.

Someone once said that Elephants are almost like people. I've always liked the idea, and this proves babies are very similar to human toddlers having a tantrum. I never wanted to get out of my baths, but I did. No tantrum, my late mother put fear in me to listen to her. I was a spanked child. The year or two before she died I just got over the flinch. She was so upset with herself that she was the one who caused it.
Eszra I believe if more children had a healthy fear (respect) for their parents God given authority and were spanked more often and spoiled far less, this out of control generation would be more responsible

Rebecca - that and actually teach your kids to respect you and socialized them greatly. There is a lot more to do though. I mean kids used to be taught hard work, now well...

How Precious! God sure did make 🐘's Special! They live life just how it comes to them. They don't complain, they just do their very best. She didn’t want the baby in that deep pool. It can get stuck. That’s why. The other place was v shallow and she let him be. So cute. And the adults are ever so caring
No, the mother clearly was irritated the herd were moving on the kid was procrastinating. The mom had to go and take a time out because of how stubborn the baby was.
