- Tonight I review Adrian Tchaikovsky's sequel in the Final Architecture series and I answer the question, is it worth continuing to read this series? I provide a spoiler free plot overview, discuss my likes, my dislikes, make some recommendations and I give this one a rating.
Over the last year i have read/reread over 40 Hugo and/or Nebula award winning Science Fiction and Fantasy novels, and I have been ranking them on the ever growing SF Shed Ladder.
I use the following criteria to help me rank these wonderful novels.
1. Concept (how interesting/unique is the SF or F concept)
2. Execution of the concept
3. Characters (interesting character arcs, relatable, interesting)
4. Writing (how much did i enjoy the writing)
5. How memorable are these novels (the memory test)
6. Plot (interesting twists and turns)
7. Ending (does the ending satisfy)

I completely agree. Many of his recent releases are starting to get quite bloated and irresponsible. Hundreds of pages that could have been cut and left out.
I wish he would focus a little bit more and respect his audience.
Excellent review. Thank you for the synopsis
@@8020Alive Thank you kindly 😊 glad you enjoyed it.
Loving this review series of yours! One suggestion: mention the year & prize in your video description.
@tandmark thank you for the suggestion. Are you referring to the complete ranking to date section, i could add it there. The video descriptions normally have the year and award the novel won. This video didn't because it didn't win one.
