New a Falconer that had a light phase Gyr, captive breed 10,000 dollar bird had radio Telemetry grated into tail feathers, lost it once hired a Airplane and relocated it. Cheers
Was asked by the CWS to leave the Porcupine River in the northern Yukon for being far less intrusive than documented in this video. Must wonder what CWS would think of this video?
@@tokara61 The rivers don't matter, it's the raptor nesting behavior and how observers impact same or are perceived to impact the birds. I wonder if climbing to raptor nest (eyries) and filming requires a permit in Alaska? What state policies are in effect re remote river tours in Alaska?
@@dorisandpatrickleary8297 It is all about HOW you observe. We are master falconers with over 40 years experience with raptors and I am Ph.D in biology. We would not disturb raptors incubating eggs, but there is no problem with approaching nest when young are hatched. We did it carefully so that birds were tolerating us and even feeding babies. If you listened comments to the footage, we mentioned that if we found the nest where falcons we too young, we immediately walked away to let mom come back to the nest asap. Permits are not required and collected materials were submitted to the Northwest Arctic Heritage Center.
