Hi Shane, with daily cattle inspection you should figure out what's wrong with her in due time. I got Brahman/nguni crosses and Ngunis on communal land and they forage... Through INaturalist app I'm able to study about trees they forage on - check palatablity, protein content etc
Hi Björn, While ngunis are not considered dairy cattle as they don't produce large volumes of milk, some of our communal farmers do, however, milk for their own use - off the veldt. There is s videon on youtube about dairy farmers milking directly off the veld though. I csn't remember their channel name but they are somewhere in the cape province. Thanks for the kind words!

As soon as I find a herd I will make one!
Nguni's genetics to Br🌳 up a tree
Everytime they eat the baby green grass, it’s slowly killing the good forage. Nice cattle, love your videos. Really like the toughness
You are correct! I will start making smaller camos soon to prevent that!
Hi Shane do you know of anyone milking ngonis or similar breeds on veldt grass? Thanks for your videos.

Maybe is the meds remember you recently vaccinated I always have this behaviour after vaccination
It might be possible. She looked better today.
Are you in Johann's grazing group chat on WhatsApp?
Hi Jacob.
Yes I am!
How does one get to join the group? Is it by invite?
Yes unfortunately.
How much per kg did you pay for the Nguni cows
We did not weigh them. Just a price/head.
You don't buy breeding animals based on kg but genetic make up and auction price which depends on buyers
@@KaraboMontjane-q8t I don’t completely agree but I hear what you are saying
@@shanecotty3275 currently what’s the average price per head for Nguni’s?
Because the animals are sold on auction - it will differ from auction to auction. Probably between R15 000 to R20 000
