Hey, thank you sir. I just ordered by 74cv today and I never thought or knew they made a Stern a pad. I'm going to look into doing it that way myself thank you and tight lines to you
The pad has been on for 2 years and is still solid as can be. I also used the same 3M tape to attach my electrical fuse blocks inside the consul, holding up great there also.
A tackle shop in Eutaw ALA. has bumper stickers that say: Kids who fish and hunt don"t steal and deal. Makes me know spending time with my son fishing has worked out in the person he has become! Looks like your on the right path also.
How does that Swivel base hold up OUTSIDE in sun and salt? I keep my flats boat on my lift. Just wondering if the base and wiring will degrade in the elements???
So I can take the screen with me home whole I leave the boat on storage?? If so then I'm getting one because I've held back on getting one because of petty thieves where I am
Yes the whole system unsnaps from the base. I keep mine in a padded bag inside the house for the same reason as you. Only thing that stays on the boat is the transducer and wiring to the swivel base.
updated to echomap 75cv uhd with navionic data from my old echomap 70s which was very accurate, had to throw it back as the underwater heads where i fish were too far out, in fact 1300ft out from where they should be, spent 4 days searching for the heads, on the 75cv it said i was fishing directly over them but in reality i was fishing over sand and the heads were 1300ft away, had to revert back to my old echomap, no good having all the sparkles if yer in the wrong place, any one wanna check just ask for the numbers and i will give them..
How is that 3M stern mount working? I’m glad I saw your install first. I have a new boat, would never have thought to use a stern pad. But much better idea than drilling into a new boat. I’ve seen the glue on’s, but like the 3M idea better. by the way, I got the 74sv
This is the second 3M pad I have used and so far great results. I use the same type 3M tape for car moldings and louver mounts, that is why I used this. I knew it would last years and no holes drilled into the boat.
I went out today on a foggy morning and the Garmin was a life saver for plotting a course and knowing where I was. I love the fish finder/depth finder part also. I am still trying all the different views and modes. I commented to my son today I'll never own a boat without one now! It is really easy to use the home button takes me back to the start when I get lost.
I think you can get a specific model for flush mount. I really like this model and would be lost without it now. On a foggy morning this spring we were able to plot and finish a trip with just 50 yard visibility.

Looks like fun playing with that .
Great show and tell friend
So I have a question did you buy it with the blue chart g3 or the worldwide basemap for the charts and maps??
-thanks, Will
I haven't decided on what chip to buy or use yet. Every time I look at them I get confused on which would be best for me.

I have a canvas console cover for my boat, so it is not in the sun. So far I don't see any breakdown of the plastic or any problems.

This is my first Garmin, thanks for the info I will check the accuracy on mine now.
If I didn’t know no better I’d say you’re from southeast Louisiana. St. Bernard?
Other side of the river Plaquemines.
All you need now is a standard mapping EAST card

How are you liking it so far??? I am on the edge of purchasing one. How easy is it to use?

Can they be flush mounted on the console?
