Great tutorial I have recently been looking at hammocks and there is a lot to take in. Thanks

This is one of the best reviews on the Chameleon on youtube.

Thanks. Best review I have seen on this hammock. Waiting on mine to be delivered. As an XLC owner I am also going to miss my self. I opted for the double peak lofts so hopefully the transition wont hurt too much!

I am probably going to get another peak loft (for both ends). It doesn't replace the shelf, but it gets the job done

Nice Video. One advantage I see to this hammock with the left or right lay is for beginners who don't really know which lay they like. This Hammock gives them the chance to experiment and discover which works best for them. Then you have people with bad backs that might like to switch things up from time to time.

Hey guys, this is kind of embarrassing having to ask, but can you help me understand something that just doesn’t make sense to me?
Looking at your current setup, how does an underquilt effectively insulate your body when there is nothing above? I understand an underquilt will insulate the bottom, but since heat rises, I don’t understand how any of these underquilts insulate to their rated temps? If a UQ is rated for 20 degrees, can you presumably sleep in a T-shirt and shorts and be comfortable, or are you guys sleeping in jackets, pants and booties?
Thanks for helping clarify this. Really looking forward to investing in a hammock system!

The Dutchware site says not to use any buckles with the dynema strap. Did you ask him about that?

The Duch straps are a mixture of Dynena and polypropylene
You are correct the website said they should not be used with Dynema only straps

I’m buying one this weekend. Thanks for the review. And oh BTW, nice tee shirt. Shoutout to Shug. Cheers from Duluth

Nice review! You mentioned that the pack hooks help keep the UQ from moving, so you don't need to adjust it in the middle of the night. Have you noticed that some UQ work better for this than others? Did you have any trouble with any specific UQ for this?

Subscribed. Great video series on this hammock. I very much am interested in the Chameleon and these videos are incredibly informative.
Question: Dutch is now listing the 1.0 as red for 200lbs on the web site. Your vids have it listed for 250lbs? Any insights? I'm at 195 and want to go as light as practical.
Edit: found multiple data sources on the web that list the 1.0 at 250 lbs.

He lowered the weight rating after this video was made. When the chameleon's were first produced the Hexon 1.0 had a rating of 250 lbs. I'm not sure why he reduced it, maybe the be on the more conservative side.

Nice hammock review. Question - Are you supposed to be so far down in the hammock so near the foot end? NOW, tell me about your parents HOUSE!

That particular hang was a little foot-box heavy, usually I'm a little more towards the head-end.

not lighter than my single layer BB. also no shelf. nice review.

My single-layer WBBB XLC (1.7) w/whoopies and biners came in at 28.2 oz. The regular WB would be lighter though for sure. Definitely miss the shelf.
