So, me and my roommate are stuck inside, due to the novel coronavirus. My roommate got a hold of this game today, and we have decided that we will play everyday, and the loser has to cook dinner. I plan on studying your videos, because I have no intention of cooking dinner. I just hope she doesn't find your videos too. Thanks.

an honorable man would show his partner the videos as well to encourage growth and to make you both better. a weasel would use this purely as advantage.

Thank you for these videos. I'm also a beginner player, and I find all this information extremely useful!
Could you elaborate a bit on why the self-pin at 5:38 is such a huge mistake and how could have your opponent forced a draw?

Replay the game. (You can do this very easily at BoardSpace.net)
If my opponent had immediately marched forward with his Queen I could not have stopped him from attacking with it and then would have been forced into a draw by repetition.

wouldn't that beetle just cover the queen and end the game?

@@Morchunkis please answer that! is exactly what I thought

Exactly, queen moves toward the beetle and then the newly placed beetle just moves on top of the queen I don't know how he could have stopped you? Lol I know this is 4 years late.

Yeah, I'm not sure either, I've studied this for a long while and didn't really see anything for a long while... Still unsure
At the beginning of turn 42 Black only has to bugs that can move:
      Black Queen
      Black Beetle
Or spawn the only remaining Black Spider 2, in one of five spawn points for this spider to enter
Perhaps the draw is a forced stalemate by forcing the same pieces moving for three turns with so many imovable bugs
But I 'think' Randy is referring to after this move
      42 bQ /wB1
If Black continued moving the Black Queen towards the White Queen, that a draw could be forced by the simulations surrounding of both Queen's
      Once Black has completed.
The self pin stops White covering the queen, and perhaps losses some tempo to move the beatles into attacking situations

I thought of a cool way to play this one a sailboat. Have a whiteboard and put flat magnets on the back of the pieces
