If the water pressure coming out of your home doesn't meet what the fridge is expecting (or you have a slightly pinched hose), when you attempt to do a measured fill for 1 cup (or any amount, really), it won't actually dispense the amount being read on the display. You can then calibrate this so that what is displayed matches what is actually dispensed. It's honestly super helpful.
