played this my sophomore year of high school! brings back memories!
Oh my god the cubist period variation is so beautiful. Watching the score gradually filling up with complexity to me at least is stunning. I play first horn in this piece currently and I absolutely adore the horn line at measure 49, it’s so fun to play. Overall I love this piece but those were just some highlights. Oh also the blue period variation was absolutely tearjerking
The slow part with the alto?!!! Thats my fav part too it sounds to good!

It's a pain in the ass to play (did it for a concert). I can't remember the note exactly but it's a high e or something, which is nearly impossible to do with 8th grade lungs 😭
