- Hey everyone / Salut à tous!!
This is the FULL 4 part tutorial on how I made the ‘Aquatic Bloom’ polymer clay bracelet cuff.
I developed this base technique as I wanted to include the strength of resin without resining the top which would get scuffed all too quickly. I didn't want it to be bulky and didn't want the hassle of clasps.
This bracelet holds its shape without being bulky and does not require a clasp, and will not loosen or fall off your wrist when warmed with your body heat. My bracelets using this technique measure between 4mm & 5mm in thickness.
So, in this tutorial I will show you my new cuff base technique; we will make our plants & creatures with the magic of Mica Shift; we will make a handmade stamp for the Mokume Gane bubbles; create a unique veneer, and assemble and finish your one of a kind jewellery art.
0:00 Part 1: Build the cuff base with my new hidden resin technique
12:27 Part 2: Mica Shift magical swirls
28:43 Part 3: Mokume Gane and handmade stamp
43:12 Part 4: Final veneer and finishing
In addition to imagination & patience, you will need:
Large bracelet cuff base (I used 49mm raw brass)
Metallic and or pearl clay
Translucent clay
Clay for the cuff base
Translucent liquid clay
Tissue blades
Rubbing alcohol
UV Resin and UV lamp
Sanding materials

Please forgive the music volume in this tutorial. This was one of my first videos and I didn't know I could adjust the volume when editing. Sorry 😳
If you just wait a few minutes, the liquid clay will set up and become tacky or sticky. Very beautiful bracelet! I haven't seen anyone use resin for stability before! Very smart!
Thank you very much! I know, but I put way too much on in the first place 🥰
Very interesting techniques. Would love to see the mica shift in the uncooked clay better, it looked so interesting as you twisted and sliced. The project was a lot of careful work, thank you for showing us how.
Thank you! I'm thinking of doing another mica shift piece or two and will try to film again 🥰
Beautiful
