Great video. I am always amazed at how much craftsmanship goes into boats while puzzled that nobody back in the day could design a portlight window that isn't a constant source of future maintenance.

True! I've thought the same thing...these portlights are so simple (which in a way is good because someone like me can take a whack at fixing them). I think it might be due to the relatively primitive bonding agents they had to work with back then, coupled with the lack of imagination that these boats would still be in service today. I mean, the year 2023 probably seemed like sci-fi in 1976. Boats would surely fly in 2023.

I thought I might stop by and see if Ladybug is still there. I'll say hello. What are you sanding?

That house battery needs charging . Simple rule we use over here , 12.2 is indicating it's fully discharged , 12.9 is fully charged , 13.6 indicates it's charging . A discharged battery over the winter , is not a good place to be , and damage will almost certainly follow ! .

Thanks for that advice. I've got a trickle charger that I'll set up when I go down next. I've also got a whole season of videos to produce and upload. I wonder which will happen first?

As a former NYC'er and budding drone pilot (look for my shaky skills in future videos), thanks for saying hello, it's great to have you along!

@@StemtoSternSailing Ah, got you! It's so hard to read intentions in comments. I always think laughing faces are laughing at _me_ ! 😀
I would like to pick your brain though, did I miss something? It's quite likely I did, this is my first attempt at restoring a boat. I did go back later and there was a lot of water in the head. Did I miss a seal?
