- Meet Grace a marketer who left employment to “pluck” her money off avocado trees Three years later, she has planted 20,000 trees of the Hass Avocado variety. Did you know that you shouldn’t dig a hole to plant an avocado seedling? Find out how you should plant, and other important avocado husbandry practices you must implement for you to get quality fruit and in good quantities, which translates to better prices! Also, find out how Grace manages to keep her operations going, given the seasonality of the avocado!! For those aspiring avocado farmers, this is a must-watch she “hass” so much to share, and yes! The time “hass” come for me to remind you to share the link too. Happy Easter!

I need to visit this lady to learn morer to see my vision come true
I like this lady. Very classy, articulate and seems passionate
Salute my sister. Love from the land between the two rivers, Zimbabwe🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼
As an European, I never bought bad fruit from Kenya. When I go to the supermarket and I see "Produce of Kenya" I pay the price for that fruit, because I know it is going to be very good.
Thankyou
Thank you, how much do they retail per Kg or the units you use there.
@@mosesgikeri6750 For bananas it's about 1.5euro/kg and for avocado it's about 1.4-2 euro/piece depending on the size. This are the most common fruits from I Kenya I see in supermarkets here, but not as often as I wish. Due to logistics, East Africa is preferred for (what we call) exotic fruits and South America. However, bananas and avocados produce in Kenya are 10/10 for taste and flavor, incredible each time I buy them. Premium quality, probably the best you can buy here. God bless Africa! God bless Kenya! 🖤❤️💚
Wow as ovacado farmers am proud,we promise to produce the best, and am looking for market in Europe, harvest in months time (end of January)
Amazing, I hope farmers can continue to produce quality fruits
I started my avocado orchard courtesy of Grace. She even referred me to Isinya Roses to get seedlings. Thank you Karakuta
❤
She is very articulate & crystal clear in her concept. Love her.
We are from New Zealand .... we just loved watching this

I love avocado 🥑 I'm so impressed by her.
Well done, this is fantastic, especially that you are training surrounding women and encouraging them to sell only when the fruits are mature. Great job!
why does it matter, man or woman? people like you make the world a worse place with your divisive bs. spare me your oppression nonsense.
this is probably one of the best encouragement i have needed to start, very well done Mrs. May you continue flourishing
Very inspirational. The Kenyan woman is a real hustler - these women are doing what they can for the family. We need to empower our women. This lady will help and uplift her neighbors.
Your inspiration Grace made me to grow 500 trees of hass avocado which are doing very well though they are still young. I intend to visit your farm very soon to learn some few things.all my fruits once they are ready will be exported through your company. Good work and keep up.

Hallo Grace, l love your story. I am a young avocado farmer in Nyeri, Othaya with around 80 plants. They're now six months and wish to get in touch with you.
Hey mercy, please text me your number. I'm also from othaya and want to start
I like the accent of this lady. Very articulate lady.
Truly inspiring. I must visit the farm. I already have about 100 trees 4mths old.
Wow.. God Bless you mam watching from the Philippines🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
I understand that Afrikan farmers do access foreign markets with raw materials, I would love to see a Value chain in Avocado products, Avacado, oil, cream, soap, paste, and over 20 other products. I love what you do: pls think of Afrikan Markets, it there for you...
If you listened to this lady. You start small before going for bigger things. First you build capital. To get to the next level its capital intensive. Most of avocado is consumed with no value addition
I 👂 your grievance. 🥑 is a superfood and our people are malnourished. I know what 💰 means for the farmer but can we not support one another in Africa too. That time will come I pray. What about those young ladies going to suffer in Saudi Arabia. Here one feels like there are two Kenyas. Raw material, human resource manpower and patience always finds away to export itself to those who are already well looked after. 👍 I am in the uk and avocados are not cheap especially those small green type, so I hope they are paying really well. I will give the international market a vote. Even though they have the worst weather for farming, they demand the best from the 👩🌾 they chose to transact with. A lesson to learn. Make sure you ask to be paid what your work is worth. I 👏you who is affecting change and giving someone hope.May God keep your vision true. 🙏 for supporting mamas.
African should start practicing commercial farming. Myself I have a small farm and I'm shocked by the high return.
I agree . That is something we need to work towards.

Grace is one smart lady. I bet she works her rear end off too.
We grow chestnuts and pawpaws (in the Midwest of the USA) and she is right.
If you focus on having the best, a lot of other things take care of themselves.
But, If you don't have failures along the way, you aren't doing much.
Excellent excellent excellent and its very strange to see some people disliking the video! Must be the work of the devil for sure
Hello Sir. I m Akmaluddin from Indonesian. Your Alvokado vary good

Nanjye nshaka kuzihinga mu Rwanda.
Thats a beautiful investment story with good returns. The int'l mrkt is very competitive when it comes 2 quality. For the most part Africa has had challenges with establishing quality standards cuz of lack exposure to the int'l mrkt. Kudos on stepping up the game!! Go get that bag mama!!
Great advice,
My Dad have been a farmer for three years, greatest challenge have been getting reliable market.
We are very proud of you, sis. ! 😀
Love from Uganda 🇺🇬 am also in my first year of planting hass avocado trees...inspired by musubi farm.

So encouraging and inspiring...I'm soon going to start with about 200 avocado plants
Hallo CEO karakuta farm.my name is Nancy and currently in US but I have started hass avocado farming in Embu.l need to send my family members to come to your orchard and learn more about growing good quality avocado and also learn where I will sell once they mature
I absolutely loved this video and I'm left in tears with a heart so full and thankful.Well done my dear, well done.
Human nature is hard to comprehend. When Grace is giving such an edifying talk on avocado, 33 people give her a thumbs down. My only reservation about this avocado farming, is you cannot profitably do it on 50*100 or quarter acre plot. You need sizeable land, which Karakuta has, already.
How many acres do you need to be profitable please
Wow,So so Inspirational, Welldone so good that you are also inspiring other women.
Very good insights. Well articulated and delivered.
Iam proud of you mama. Wise words
Nice video and advice. I have started a small avocado farm and 170 trees in the ground so far and it's been a lot of work. Can't imagine planting 20,000 trees.
Where are you located; I also want to start a small scale avocado farm, and would like to hear from people who are beginners so I can also hear from their experience.
@@nanouekonzo5581 I'm located in northern NSW in Australia. There is definitely a lot to learn about growing avocados. Planted my first trees in 2018 with no prior knowledge and they didn't grow much. I lost a few trees. My trees are growing great now after learning what I should be doing with them.
Don't gave up
Can u advice what are the challenges to start an avacado farm? From scratch...
Yes u can!! U've already started on the journey. Don't sell yoself short. Getting started is the toughest n ur already on the way if 20,000 plants is yo target. Remember that even a journey of 1,000 miles starts from zero. So ur already in motion!
Thanks for sharing, just bought a farm and plan to do avocados. Eye opening, we need your connection in Zambia
I love her teaching talent, very prominent
I come from Mangu Area, I have a small orchard of 70 trees, and will definitely reach out.
