I started working with network analyzers nearly 40 years ago on a HP8410C, the whole setup was probably about 100 kilos worth of equipment, technology has come a long way !
i am having a hare time imagining the way to fully set this up to tune a duplexer. Would greatly appreciate a step by step procedure for a person that's learning how to use one. I am attempting to tune a Vertex-Standard VXD-40U duplexer. Thank you
Thanks Gary. I just had notification that mines just been despatched. It may seem expensive to some but with the larger screen compared to the Nano I will now learn and utilise all it has to offer an amateur radio user rather than with the Nano, struggle with the small screen size and make do with the least you 'need' to do. I see there are other bluetooth offerings which can be used with a laptop screen but its just another connection to fail. Give me a stand-alone box any day. Thanks for the video.
how do u like it iv been looking at one as an upgrade to my nanovna that i caint read outside in the sun how bright is the display on it good enough to see outdoors ?
@@AndrewR2130 Hi Andrew. Definitely easier to read in sunlight than a Nano and the built in batteries last a whole lot longer. Some things can be altered on the touch screen without having to use the side menu which is helpful, especially frequency width when targeting specific bands within a wideband antenna. I would say that unless you're interested in its full capabilities I would consider the rig expert devices, especially the 650 Zoom. That thing would be much easier to use outdoors in a working/tuning environment.
Hi, Interesting intro video. Have you any idea how to get back the screenshots? I can see pictures in the 'image' file but I can't copy them to my PC. In fact, although I've a good interaction between SV4401A and the dedicated PC software, my PC's don't see the VNA through the USB connection ... How is it possible? Alain
Hi Gary, I would like to place an order for one of each of the 2 VNA's shown here. I have use's for each one. Some may think me MAD but there we are. My 1st ex wifes call sign was M1MAD, as was her initials when she was married to me, LLOL. I'm no stranger to ML&S, her 1st & middle names are Maria Ann. You have my full name on record, so it's not rocket science to work out what the D stands for LLOL's. One Major Question though, Is the Larger VNA Internally Firmware/Software Upgradeable, maybe from an online download & then upgraded from a Laptop/PC Please Gary,? ? ? As I'm constantly playing around with different homebrew aerial designs/concepts myself, & need glass's to read, the large version will be essential to me, especially when I'm out sorting out other peoples aerial/antenna & coax/feeder problems. B4 anyone asks if I run a business, , , , , , , NO I Don't. I just enjoy helping others to sort out their high SWR problems. Kind Regards, Ray. M0RAY.. Locator:- JO01ii.

Yes indeed Victor. It's amazing how quickly technology improves.

Alain
Does it operate on harmonics of square or it's pure sine in whole range?
If JNC is reading the comments perhaps they will advise.. I will ask them to jump in.. Gaz
It’s pure sine in whole range, on SV4401A.
Why is there no "N" type calibration kit ? Most ham antennas are "N" type not SMA
They provide adapters, and there are n type chassis connections fitted.. Gaz
Must have toy -tool...nice price with extras...73
Hi Gary, thanks for this; those VNAs could be really popular at work - can you send me a free sample? ;-D
Ive signed my life away for the one I'm playing with :-) I'm staggered what you can get these days
I'm having a hard time imagining a less informative video.
I love it but I cant afford it at that price. Im sure its worth it but I'll wait for an inheritance. lol
So much choice with these things these days, staggers me the bang for buck you can get.. Gaz
