Suzie is the BOMB - sooo good. INXS asked her to be their lead singer after Michael Hutchence passed away. Love you to check out more Baby Animals stuff.
Suze DeMarchi is just everything a rock front woman should be. They were hand picked to open 80 shows for Van Halen in the states back in the day, then their record label went bust, the Suze married Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme and that was for them, stalled at two albums for nearly 20 years. Those two albums tho goddamn, they still get airtime for me nearly every single day. This wasn't one of their 'hits' as such, but the vocal gives me shivers every time and I reckon it's a bit of a masterpiece in building a song.
Tip of the iceberg! We need much more! Baby Animals have a lot of great songs! The story goes that Baby Animals went to USA to tour with Bryan Adams in 1990. Baby Animals blew him off the stage and he put them off the tour. Van Halen then picked them up, saying they don't want a shit band for their opening act, we want a good band so come tour with us! Cheers!
'wayyyyyyyyyy'? Yeah, no. Besides the videos for those are all largely garbage and none of them show the hot as hell raw attitude on display in this one, and other than a slight dip in painless, none of them have suze breaking out that delicious growl she had here. Don't get me wrong, those are four great songs and id probably agree that Dave's guitar work stands out a bit more in them, but I picked this one for a reason.
@@kane29842 I agree with the bloke above, I have the first two albums and knew this song just as an album track. I saw them live a few times in the late 80's and they were great but this is not a song I would use if introducing someone new to the band. Dont get me wrong its an ok track but far from their best, I would start with Early warning or Rush you. Suzi De Marchi is an awesome vocalist. Unlucky to arrive when they did as 10 years earlier late 70's or early 80's they'd have been huge.
Dei here. I'll still hold that INXS saw out the Aussie 80's sound. I kind of missed Baby Animals, but this is... wow. I think maybe Baby Animals and Screaming Jets were perhaps that link from the amazing Aussie 80's to the wonderful music of Powderfinger, Spiderbait and Silverchair.... I hate to admit I'm Baby Animals ignorant... Please continue my education... I'm loving it!!
Dei, I heard an interview with Dave Gleeson from the screaming Jets. He and Susie use to be a couple. He said he thought things were going well till the album came out, and he realised nah, she wasn't happy. They split.
Another Aussie band are the Veronicas with twin sisters from Brisbane Lisa and Jess. they are Pop/Rock but still effective. Songs ..4ever, Revolution, leave me alone, untouched to name a few.
Frank Celenza is the drummer, I worked with his girlfriend and got to hear their 1st album before it was officially released. Went to all their early shows in Sydney for free when they were backing up Jimmy Barnes and Screaming Jets. Fun times.
Suze; pure rock chick. Don’t know if the rumours of her punching Chris Robinson in the face are true but, man, she went hard in the day and they were highly respected in the rock scene.
Awesome!!! Love Baby Animals, seen them in the 90s and seen them in the last few years, soooo good live. 'Working for the Enemy ' is probably my fav 💝. Check it out. Peace
Great Aussie band. She is a legend.

Baby Animals were such an underrated band. Suze DeMarchi still holds my school boy heart. 😍
Came out around the same time as the Baby Animals
The Screaming Jets was another great Aussie rock band
I saw them Jan 2020 and wow Suze hasn't lost any of her charm or her rock presence!

Their self titled album is as good as any album you care to mention… absolutely brilliant

At The End Of The Day is even harder than them.
First album was more iconic, but Shaved and Dangerous was just an absolute BANGER! It was heavier and the lyrics were fire.
The Baby Animals are one of the most criminally underrated bands of all time - and Suze Di Marchi is a rock goddess.
BEST FEMALE ROCK SINGER IVE SEEN LIVE !
The best Baby Animals song.
The baby animals are fantastic plenty of great songs.
My first live concert was Baby Animals and Screaming Jets. Snuck in underage 🤘🏼
Baby Animals put on a show that would always blow your socks off. Suze is just awsome as a band leader. Check out their song "Early Warning"

One Word, please!
Please listen to ‘Waste of Time’, it’s on the same self titled CD. Not sure if they made a video of it though. Still worth a listen 🙋🇦🇺😀
Could be a part of their live show which featured ‘Ain’t gonna Get’
20 years before Lizzie Hale.......🤘🇭🇲
Baby Animals were killing it but decided to go all arty and complex just as Grunge was about to take music back to dirty and basic
