Back in the day they really built things to last longer it seems it wasn't such a throwaway society back then and I believe that people appreciated their belongings much more than what they do today
I totally agree. I am 57 and in my 20's & 30's I worked with primarily geriatrics. Doing in home care. My patients that lived through the Great depression. And were old enough to have memories of that time. Saved every thing. That could possibly be used and possibly needed in the future. Everything from twisty ties ( straightened and placed in baggies with their friends) and the heavy duty paper plates, the ones with a coating. They would have me gently wash (not submerging them in water) and dry them for future use. To every other item in their home. Fixing, mending, reusing and so very much more.
I love this one and am excited to see what else you can find 👍 Sad she died alone! There must be family somewhere but they won't look to hard for them considering them they won't get the house and all the stuff in it! Just how I see things!
Your in a true time capsule, they had great taste in their day .Mid century furniture is all the rage in your country ,great video as always uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I was was so fascinated to see the vintage items in this house. My family moved into our home in November, 1963 (I was 5) and when they sold the house, we had to clean out 42 years of "stuff"!! They still had the copper-tone stove, and hadn't long replaced the copper-tone refrigerator.
As a person of a certain age, I would say the people who owned this home were not considered rich but I would say they were middle class. The home I grew up on looked very similar. Brought back many great memories.
Oh wow I love all that old decor. I especially love that old chair. That trunk in the attic even though it was empty it looked in really good condition 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
I have that identical last rites cross. I gave it to my grandmother as a gift when I was a teenager it was used when she passed. I have it back and it hangs on my bedroom wall.
Another house adventure! Yay!! You're going to find some crazy good stuff in there. I love the weird yellow chair. I'm wondering if the "chrome" pieces next to the LR couch are silver plate. Can't wait for the next one
Having been auctions where no family it saddens heart. No history left for others especially loved ones. I love u tube but I'm sure you share sentiments.
Those candle sticks on the end table are danish design and silver plate or actual sterling not chrome. Some beautiful things are what a shame no family.😞
@@2ndCentsIncAuctionsCleveland No no no. I'm old and all I do is quilt. It's always on my mind. It's like you walking past a random cardboard box and not looking in is all LOL
Hey Rob. I am a fan of Elvis Presley. Never got to go to Graceland or see him in a concert. I heard you say last night someone wants you to buy their Elvis stuff. I’m specifically looking for a scarf that he wore. Could you let me know if you come in contact with that? I would very much appreciate it. ❤❤🙏🙏
I'm curious if you would know what the Asian 4 panel divider would go for. My ex husband's grandparents had a very similar one, but its colors were red, black and gold and it was absolutely stunning just like that one!
How does this deal go? Do you take everything and auction it? Or do you hand pick and just seek the high quality stuff? I’m not getting the feeling this is just a clean out.. Everything is such incredibly high quality! What a fabulous find!! I recognized that tobacco pouch instantly! The smell came rushing back with thoughts of my Dad, and all the tiny holes he burnt in everything!!!
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻 What an awesome home. It reminded me of pictures I have seen in magazines from that era. Although that would have been very hard for me. To not have children or family in my life. I was not shocked when you told us. The home did not look like children had ever lived there everything was in too much of a Christine order The home did not look like children had ever lived there. Everything was in too much of a pristine order. Even a single child with that home being it's primary residence. Would have put the home through the wringer lol
Sorry that's atmos. This house is just crazy. Did you pay one set fee for contents? I can't believe what great finds you have had this year. I've enjoyed them all.

Back in the day they really built things to last longer it seems it wasn't such a throwaway society back then and I believe that people appreciated their belongings much more than what they do today
I agree, that's why I try to save this great stuff

I'm surprised how clean it looks for sitting for over 2 years don't even look dusty
I'm 70. I remember our Yorkie dog having chew toys like that when I was little!! Brings back memories!! 😍😍
The Cooper backsplash is so clean!

Vintage Goodness
Thanks, my parents bought their house in 1960. All the furniture brings a lot of memories back.

This house is a beautiful time capsule. The "sword" is actually a part to a Vita-Mix blender.
As a person of a certain age, I would say the people who owned this home were not considered rich but I would say they were middle class. The home I grew up on looked very similar. Brought back many great memories.
I love the furniture!
Yes, the furniture was great & sold for good money Michelle
All the hanging lamps are awesome
Thanks for sharing Rob, lovely bits 👍🤗🥰
Do love your videos. Great find.
I'm impressed that you know about pinochle. I haven't met anyone in years that knows how to play pinochle. You have a really good show and I love you.
That wooden stick with the cross piece is a tamper stick for the Vitamix (found in the closet before the 13:00 mark)
Oh wow I love all that old decor. I especially love that old chair. That trunk in the attic even though it was empty it looked in really good condition 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

I saw that couch and I gasped! What a beauty!
Yes, some unbelievable furniture

I'd live in the house as is. It's beautiful.❤️
I believe the white ashtray you picked up from under the night stand was California pottery at least it looked like it.
I am in love ❤ with this house as is
Yes, it is vintage goodness
Takes me back to my grandparents house
Those candle sticks on the end table are danish design and silver plate or actual sterling not chrome. Some beautiful things are what a shame no family.😞
So very sad. My greatest fear is to outlive my husband. I have NO family. I have no one to dispose of my stuff.
Love grandfather clock
Rob, you look good in that SOMBRERO!! You should wear that next time you are running an auction!!

Everything’s is free!
The glass spaarkles really nice for after 2 1/2 years
Yes, everything was pretty clean for sitting a couple years
Beautiful furniture.
I think so, too! Vintage goodness
If this house has been left for 2 and 1/2 years why no dust?
The wood piece shaped like a cross is a tamper for the Vitamix 3600. I have the same model.
Thanks for the information , I appreciate it
Wow!
LOTS OF GOODIES
When I was younger I even rode up money and my curtain ham
Lots of old things. Some really good fines
Yes, wait until you see the jewelry
I would love too found the heavy glass. Ashtrays bigger the better
You could sell Ivory if it's antiquing you have the paperwork at least you got the appraisal to prove that it's old before ivory was band
Squeaking all those old dog toys, are making my dogs go nuts.
My house is a time capsule as well. Lol, we've lived in this house for 50 years.

I love your wow wow wow
Atmosphere clock 1000 dollars. Wow.
How sad,no hubby,kids or family.
I'm curious if you would know what the Asian 4 panel divider would go for. My ex husband's grandparents had a very similar one, but its colors were red, black and gold and it was absolutely stunning just like that one!
That so Twilight Zone it is creepy. Everything is in such good shape.
Yes, I guess no kids will do that 😄

Cheryl, we're conducting an online auction at the estate. We will try to catalog & photo everything worth selling
Love those cars ❤
Yes, very cool
By the stuff in the attic and the one picture of the 3 children, I think she had children put they've all passed away.
That's sad she had no family
This place is cool
Very cool
The Atmos clock, just by typing in what you read off of it could be worth several thousand dollars. I would like to the price if you look it up
How much for everything in the house
Hey Rob what's in the blue bag that looks interesting
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻

Surprised you didn't know about Jaeger LeCoultre.. that is a high-end brand worth at least $500. Their wristwatches are worth a fortune.
Love you Rob. On deals like this do you sell all the items and get a percentage of the profits?
Rob you should have had a mask on in that insulation you found another nice lots of good stuff❤
Yes, I definitely should have a mask on
A little updating it would be nice to live in
Cool😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sorry that's atmos. This house is just crazy. Did you pay one set fee for contents? I can't believe what great finds you have had this year. I've enjoyed them all.
Trish, we are going to have an online auction for the items at the estate
Mom or grandma would have walked in here and lived and been in hog heaven, I’m certain!,❤
Leave all the furnishings in it and it would be a very cool time warp Vrbo place to rent for big monies
Yes, it would be a great rental
Awesome video, but if you could please tell your camera guy to not chew gum . I think it would be better.
Sorry about that, he realized that too late
Max had more toys than I did.
Vintage dog toys, I bet there IS someone somewhere that does collect them....did I see newspapers in the attic under the military bag?
And look inside the the plastic plants. You never know
Great idea, will do
The hat dance is done on the brim of the hat.
Check inside the Grandfather clock .My grandma put her money there.
Good idea, thanks
Sometimes they had fake outlet cover safes in that time period
That’s a good looking house but I have not seen any furniture
Rob auctioneer extraordinaire and Jeff from 2nd Chance together again.
Yes, Jeff is transitioning to 2nd Cents & 2nd Chance will be done with
Your part 2 video should be more exciting!!
How much is that table lamp?
It will be up on an online auction that will end 4/16/23. Www.2ndcents.com
why the plants look alive?
My grandfather was a auctioneer and he had a stage above the crowd and use to spay perfume all over the men
Is no one else noticing the orb following you around 👀
Yes
For some reason when Rob is in a home where there is no family left he is surrounded with orbs.
Am I seeing Orbs?!?!
Probably, I get them in a lot of videos
Dust
Not a speck of dust on anything… 🤨
I must admit I did inhale when you put the pipe tobacco pouch up to the camera.
Yes, something about the smell of pipe tobacco, It just brings me back to my childhood
The Brady Bunch for sure.
That's how this place looked
