Fascinating to see. A8ustralia in general, and Australian rail and roads in particular, have always fascinated me. Sadly, I have never (yet) managed to get there.
This is an awesome video! I'm a train fanatic myself. Ive been riding Amtrak all over America since the mid 80s. I live in California 🤮 and Ive been coast to coast and north to south. I really want to start a channel with nothing but trains. Lol. I live in the Morongo Basin of the Mojave desert in extreme southern California, so there's no trains anywhere around. To film them, I have to head to Palm Springs which is about a 45 minute drive. Anyways, I'm rambling, love your videos and I'm subbed!
I couldn’t work out if you were going west or east until ai saw the jail…. #Roundaustraliawithspelio popped in here in #Smoky60Series a few years ago after driving from Kingoonya…
Paul, in another video you mention that the longest railway straight is no longer in Australia. Have I got that right? Where is the longest and how long is it?
Interesting little video about Paul’s refueling stop at Cook. With only 20 comments, you’d think Paul would answer some of the questions by now? I have a few, but won’t ask since he doesn’t seem to care about the commenters. Have a good day commenters. 🙂🚂
Fascinating views of a very remote little town that very few people get to see. Thanks for posting.
Rawlinna was more better mate better water too, fresher bread beer from WA and SA a hospital pub and cinema school bank post office met office
Rawlinna used to be the main rest area for drivers.
There have been promotional vid where they stop at Rawlina for either a sunset dining experience or eastbound a gourmet breakfast.

Wow great video. Love your series of Australian railroading. Would be a cool (figuratively of course) place to Railfan.
Just to clarify I believe that Cook is named after one of the early Prime Ministers, not the British navigator!
Love to live here.
When I took the Indian Pacific and stopped in Cook I was told: Human population 2; Flies 2 billion. It was almost true.
Yeah but why fill with water in Cook? both Forrest and Rawlinna had better drinking water than Cook, Cook had very saline water.
Very nice!!

Railway work is hard enough, without the heat affecting stuff.
Yes it is I have been doing for 28 years in the states. How long is the run they are videoing?
Most of the world spells it “Nullarbor Plain.”
Yeah, I see it, spelling mistook. Lol
Latin “No Trees” .
Paul, in another video you mention that the longest railway straight is no longer in Australia. Have I got that right? Where is the longest and how long is it?
Nullarbor has no 'U'. It is derived from Latin & means 'No tree' Including a 'U' is incorrect!
There is in Null.
HI MATE!! The gauge here is standard 1435 mm?? Regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina!!
Yes it’s 1435mm SG
There is NO 'U' in Nullarbor.
There is in Null.
Is this on the continuous straight section?
Where are those inhabitants?
Not sure now but they probably run the service station and general store!
Surely "Nullarbor"?
Thank you Simon Bonehead.

When did the hospital close?
On a video from some decades ago, it said: "if you're crook, go to Cook" crook being slang for sick.
My mum has a fridge magnet with that phrase on it from Cook.
When I was there the sign said “Support our Hospital, Get Sick”. Lol.
The hospital closed in 1998. The Royal Flying Doctor service now attends to the medical issues at Cook.
Those pepper trees are toxic
DARRENR 🏠 have OK yes
Its spelled 'NullarBOR'...not BOUR.
