In some ways, this is more horrifying than the way Jason died in the comics, even though that one was also pretty dark and sad. At least in the comics, it was relatively quick.
Here, his suffering lasted days, weeks even.

It's not Batman's fault Jason got into that mess. Batman told him it was too dangerous and told him not to go but he went while Batman was away and got himself captured. It's absurd to blame Batman for this.
And the reason he got a new Robin was Bc he thought Jason was dead Bc of the fake recording joker sent.
The video game version went super fast and loose with the explanation. I haven't read any of the comics but its explained way better in the animated movies. And I'm sure even better in the comics.

It was in the Arkham Stories within the game. Those like 3 page bio things.
After killing a bunch of kindergarteners, Jason had enough of Joker's actions and tracked him down to kill him once and for all (after disabling the tracking device Bruce had on him so he couldn't find him and stop him).
Unfortunately Joker was planning for all this and Jason literally walked right into a trap, breaking his ankle. Then joker took out a few teeth with a swing of a crowbar, and they caught him.
Thats basically how it went down.
