@@DIEGhostfish as coaieman said that, and the items you can buy were nerfed, also now there are so few enemies that it's really hard to get all the rampage bonuses (taurox faction mechanics), you have to plan ahead very very carefull to get at least at the frist stage of the rampage, they also nerfed the mechanic to regain movement on the world map (it costed 2-1 points and you started with 10, now it cost 3-2 points and start with 1), the times for recruiting higher units like jabberslythe, bestigor etc... got from 1 turns to 2-3 turns and your camp level do no more increase the recruitment slot so you HAVE to spend talent point on that or stay ALWAYS on settlement to recruit faster (otherwise you have only 2 slot)
I think it's a testament to how OP this one man doomstack is that you played it very inefficiently (casting spells that didn't do anything, casting spells at inefficient targets) and it was still unable to lose.

The "Dwarf Doomstack" video remains one of my favorites. Watching a star dragon disappear in 0.5 seconds to trollhammer torpedo fire is something special.

If a spell gets to the point where it is 0 winds of magic it moves over to the unit portrait, this happens for sure with durthu's wissans wildform with its discounts and I'm not sure about which other ones do.
It doesn't work when your spell has an overcast and the overcast cost WoM. But if both are free (you can install a mod to verify if you want) then you will only be able to cast the nomal cast and it will be around your portrait.
I'm just imagining Villitch posturing in front of the enemy army just shooting fire in the air, while his muted brother is signing in mental exasperation.
There seems to be a rounding error with a lot of reduced magic costs for some weird reason. I noticed this when playing be'lakor that I couldn't cast 7 winds spells with 7 winds, its very strange
I believe it was between 6.5 and 6.9 WoM, which would be registered as 7 because the game don't do decimals. This might also be what happened to Legend here with a spell costing less than 1 WoM
I've been expecting this one man doomstack, I tried a solo campaign and vilitch is an absolute monster without even min maxing him. I think legend, should for fun play his quest item, as he has unlimited winds of magic during it.
Vilitch's achilles heel is getting out-dueled by a lord/hero with big weapon strength, small model, high speed and better attack stats than him. Without that he just exists and spams magic like nothing else. Like Kairos but slower and can stand in his own infernal gate... which is just damn silly, I got 1k kills on his quest battle in one overcast doing that.

Unlikely any lords without Sword of Khaine will be able to match up to him consistently in campaign vs AI except for maybe Azazel since he can probably get a blade of slaanesh himself. He's pretty easy to force confed though, so... idk, probably not even a blip on the radar. Small model and high speed: Because if the unit is slow, he can back up and spam blue fire to out-dps them, and it's even more effective on large. But Vilitch won't use blue fire in melee, so a fast large model like Kholek can still rush him, and Azazel, but if they ever feel the need to disengage they get pelted down. But as Legend said, even with those abilities, Vilitch might still out-duel them just because he's player controlled and kitted out with perfect items, and can in theory out-EHP them. He'd need to be cracked down on debuffs, like poison and shadow/slaanesh spells, and AI might forget to do it. Vilitch's weakness is single target damage in melee, and he's still not that bad at it, but if someone is twice as good as him at it it's the only thing in the game that can threaten him in a one man doomstack scenario in theory. If the AI decides to create a monster stack though, like dragons or mammoths, he might be in trouble then too.
Honestly Vilitch is such a good lord for just running up onto the walls of a settlement and soloing the entire garrison. In my Vilitch campaign I just had Vilitch and a squad of chaos sorcerers of tzeentch running around and taking settlements with basically no damage at all
He gets a few more reductions to the casting cost of tzeench spells in the tech tree. I imagine that he has 0.something cost for the spell, that's why it doesn't show as having cost.
Vilitch is my current favourite lord in the game. Completed his RoC campaign and then dominated IE. He’s literally incredible! Will replay him with this build now for more fun as I done similar but not to this level
Another thing is that Vilitch has a trait that restores barrier if he is in melee in addition to when casting. And all of his traits affect an aoe. So while you don't need it you could totally have an army with you.
It's also super wild how he has 967 weapon strength as well. All the magic damage is great for clearing the blobs, but most mages would just get stuck tickling high health single entities to death for ages.

To be clear, since there are other reductions in play, it would likely have been more than twice as expensive. Example maths: If the current cost is 40% due to 100% -50% - 10%, then removing the -50% gets you to 90%, which is more than twice of 40%. That is not to say the magic would not still have killed everything, and it is kind of irrelevant anyway because Vilitch would still have been a 10/10 one man doomstack with zero winds of magic due to be practically invincible no matter what can be potentially be thrown at him by the AI.
sigvald's regen cap is doing weird things for me; i imagine it's a couple of days before someone willing to put the effort in submits a file and we get to watch him very slowly hack four stacks to death

And this is why the game Dofus added something called "Erosion": You lose max health when you get damage, which means that if you heal, your max hp progressively gets lower and lower. They also made this effect take place when damage is taken by a shield. We here are in a fringe case in a game full of power creep, but it's a fun game design solution anyway
Only thing I can think of that would handle this (not better, just a counter) would be Imrik. Between his fire resistance and damage output he should be able to win that duel, only concern would be Vilitch outlasting him with infinite barrier regen.

And on top of all that toughness, his magic is the single most destructive lore in the game, so it's not even a horrible slog to wipe out the armies. The only thing I see as likely to threaten him is a Von Carstein vampire goonsquad. And that's ONLY if they keep the infantry out of it. If they let the infantry in, Vilitch will just destroy their balance of power and army loss them.
The AI could theorectically send a dozen speedy melee magical attacking heros and a decked-out lord against this, but they never will. It is practically invincible in that sense, since in practice it will be invincible.
Leadership is probably the actual weakness. There was a no-defeat High Elf campaign that Legend lost because he sent in a Loremaster hero doomstack against an enemy with lots of fear and terror effects and the heros got routed. Obviously, Unbreakable fixes this, but it is worth noting as is.
Truly a one man doomstack army. If only I knew about this when I played him at his launch. I’m gonna get as much mileage out of this as I can next time around XD

Legend note too that the passive from lore of Tzeench gives wardsave, so as long as he is casting he's at like 84% physical resist I think.

The dwarves can "tank" through the army losses penalty. It literally doesn't drop their leadership low enough to be knocked out.
