I wasn't a fan of Wera until recently. I thought it's too ... "designed" ... Borrowed some tools when my car broke down during vacation and it was a Zyklop ratchet. Working with that felt so much better than with the tools I was used to. Usually I had two tools, a ratchet and a screw driver with a bit attachment, the Zyklop is both in one - loved it. I know it's expensive, but then again, this set covers most of what my old set did and I used 95% of the bits from that old set at least once. I love the set. Is it worth 300 USD? I don't know. I paid ~ 150 €.
My first was a wera bit check. Now i have the older 2 sets 1/4 zyclop, one set 1/2 zyclop. Ratched screw driver. 3 sets jokers. Tool check. Inbus drivers. 10 - 50 Nm click torque for my stihl chainsaws. Big set screw driver. Here in germany you can buy it in Baumarkt they have Wera and Knipex tools. Everytime i was in this shop some tools spring in my shopping car.😅
I've been a professional mechanic for over50 years and have spent a lifetime buying quality tools. I don't see $300 worth of tools there, or at least tools you will use. Most of those sockets will go unused. They should have at least put a universal in there. If you need some tools inexpensive tools to throw in your cars trunk, for $300 you can get 1/4 and a 3/8 gear wrench sets that come with short deep sockets that are pretty damn good, and have a lifetime warranty. you'll also have about 150 bucks left over to buy whatever else you might need to carry, and get a case of beer.
Agree with you. Even though here in Europe the are cheaper (aprox 235 $) still doesn't make sense to buy them. You can easily put a small neodim magnet inside a socket or on a bit and it works very well to hold any screw (made from iron). This wera hf tools ARE NOT FOR HIGH TORQUE or for any small impacts. The balls from the sockets will fall and the bits will break. You can only use them for emergency situations to retrive tricky screws but like i've said it works also with the magnet method. Still the Zyklop handles are very interesting and if found cheap might worth buying.
I feel like your husband made you review this so you would subconsciously like the product and not get on his case for spending $300 on a tiny premium set 😂
@Whitney Burke haha well you did a great job on that review! And if you guys want to expand the line and make another review video I highly recommend the Wera Tool-check. They complement each other nicely and it’s even more compact!
Thumb up clicked for you and your channel, I agree with many others commenting here, though the set has some nice features the overwhelming high price point IMO is too much for what you get. I feel for the same money and maybe a little more time and thought a better more versatile kit could be built and with name brand tools. Is Wera "Name brand"? I dont know.
Wera is a really respected, high-end brand in Europe. I always thought they were German, but she said made in Czech... But yeah - $300 is a big ask for a socket set.
Yeah, Wera is name brand. They're based in Germany, but they've complely move their production line to the Czech Republic. I think it's been over a decade since they've made anything in Germany. But anyways if you're looking for German brands Felo, hazet, heyco are great. Gedore is great too, but they have their stupid Gedore red line made in China. Also, Snap On's German equivalent is Stahlwille. They're stuff is nice, never brought any of their tools to failure.
So i will tell u why i think this set is crap First of all price. u can get a lot more for 300. Secondly - every bit has 1/4 inch base which takes space..there should be 1 and u switch bare bits. Finally this is the worst kit u can get for bicycle because your average bike needs few small allen keys, spokes wrench, chain tool, philips and couple of torx bits
The problem is, that Wera is already one of the more expensive tool brands in Germany. Some sets are okay, but some really too expensive. But when you ship them to the US, they become crazy expensive. I would never buy this set for 300,-. Even if I would like to this tools, I would try to find a Wera set with a better price.
Nice. This is a comprehensive socket set that’s super handy! 😎👍

The dual driver and ratchet feature saves me a lot of time. It's a clever tool I always look forward to using!
Nice set, but expensive. For bicycles, wera made a variety of different sets. I have a 41 piece set with levers, a small ratchet and bits and sockets.
I hate wera cause I bought a zyclops and like it alot now I gotta buy more.
That’s how it all begins! 😂

You will NEVER use your husbands tools. I’m mean yours
To much money for 42 pieces

@@sammyg.3604 Great recommendations, you really can't go wrong with any of those well made lines!

Literally $12 worth of tools will be able to service a bike...
