Glad you enjoyed it Craig. Track 5 is a favorite of Howard's but it's also one I really enjoy too. I also like track 1 and 9 a lot too Craig.

Well, Bob ... you've selected one of my favorite years in pop music -- and such great representations of the hit tunes of the year! As usual, all are beauties, with my standouts being Bob White (nifty vocals); The Camera Doesn't Lie; Hollywood Pastime; Love Is Good For Anything That Ails You (hot!) and the two that were introduced in Bing films, The Moon Got In My Eyes and It's The Natural Thing To Do. ... Too, I'm really enjoying the new format, with the year-relevant info thrown in. As a student of the mid-twentieth century, I'm always fascinated by the historical and cultural backdrop to the music I love. ... Not to be a downer, but there were two big losses in the artistic world that came to me right away when I saw this post: George Gershwin and Jean Harlow.

Great points Elizabeth, I forgot that we lost both of them that year. I would have mentioned that had I remembered and I may add that to future year posts. Glad you like this format and the content idea. Have a good Memorial Day!🙂

This particular song is one of my favorites from the 1930's and Hal does a great job. My favorite version of this is by Sterling Young. Glad you liked it Larry.

Not Miss Simpson, but Mrs. That was the sticking point. A king could not marry a divorcee. As it happened, Edward VIII was a personal friend of Adolf Hitler. British kings had very little power and influence in the C20th, but thankyou, Wallace. Brother Bertie, (George VI), who really didn't want the job, was just what was needed... 👍
