    VALAIDA SNOW !!!
    "I double dare you"
    I listened to THAT Song
    when I was about 14/15 of age
    listening to the Jazz-Radio
    "Die Raue Rille"
    every Wednesday Night 8-10 p.m. 🎵🎶
    must have been SO impressive 💗
    that I could sing
    EVERY SINGLE LINE
    of that darn hot song
    about 50 years later, now 😜

      Even though I was born only in 2005, just recently, I feel like this music deserves to be listened to more, instead of the modern over loud, overstimulated, electric synth, bass boosted eardrum reaper... There's sadly a lot of music from the past being neglected nowdays, composers of the early 20th century, like Rachmaninov, for example...

    Where would u be hearing this great time of music , I think of Chicago seeing it at that time , but listen folks I have met a guy who was in the purple gang , told me he witnessed a lot of killings at street corners in DETROIT , I said did the gangsters use a tommy gun he said they used mostly shot guns and revolvers , I asked him how he survived when thy came in to start shooting . He said one word DUCK HA HA HA I laughed . He then said either a barrel or car inside the place when the gangsters came , so he was 94 and I was 54 at the time WOW I knew it was true because I could hear how he talked , it was the OLD DETROIT way of speaking

    Truly Great Sounds. Great Channel too. ~ As I am currently engaged in the "construction" of contemporary sonic art and beats - I find myself drawn to these sounds. These were the cutting edge "Techno" throbbing out from dance halls and night clubs of their time. Contemporary "pop" has somehow lost a lot of "melody" opting for "Hooks" and "Traps" instead. With my hair standing up, listening to these potent ghosts out of the past I cannot help being CERTAIN that modern artists can and should make some study of these vintage styles from the "Golden Age" of dance music. I intend to try to infuse my future creations with some of the flavours of these old time swing/jazz/big bands. I have already done so, but I don't want it to be obvious. I have no wish to simply make a bunch of "electro swing", instead I would take some of the Elements which make this music great and attempt to transpose them to my own unique style and perhapse throw in and echo or 2 from these good old times... If contemporary artists were to do the same - they could certainly do worse IMO, and THEN...Just maybe, I might even be able to stop finding modern "Pop" so unappealing and undigestable.

    • @jam1966ful
      @jam1966ful 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Have a search around the tube for something called Northern Soul. Not all of them but many have just those elements. Motown is one obvious contender that has these things, for instance Jr Walker's Tune Up is big band on Steroids! Amongst the other things in the Genre you'll find melody and rhythm, one with what I find that and in my opinion a distinct African beat is This Is My Rainy Day by a group called The Parliaments it is however not the George Clinton outfit out of Detroit that became Funkadelic.
      Jackie Lee out of LA did a tune with soaring melodies, almost a European symphonic style with Oh My Darling also echoed in Laura Lee's epic To Win Your Heart out of Detroit.
      Roy Hamilton was very well known in the '60's not sure now but still well known to us that listen to such stuff. His She's Got A heart may also appeal in some of the elements you seek.
      Happy hunting!

    • @CyanBlackflower
      @CyanBlackflower 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jam1966ful Yes indeed. I am familiar with parliament, and a LOT of sounds from Detroit going back to when the bow and arrow were still a top secret weapon. the "Underground Resistance" was a sort of guild of many musicians exceeding 100+ and bands who ended up amalgamating their musical artistry to come up with some pretty "Far Out" experimental material. A small percentage of which played a role in the formation of much of the contemporary music such as Techno, House, Downtempo, Hip Hop, Dubstep, Trap etc etc, which is just outside the borders of "POP" we have going on today. While I certainly do appreciate the "Afro" influenced side of the music of the first 3 decades in the 19th century I also see it as being distinctly different from the Euro "White" big band sounds and "Swing" which just blows me away...

    • @jam1966ful
      @jam1966ful 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CyanBlackflower I distinctly stated not those Parliaments and included things which upheld many of the big band and orchestral, which in the hands of some of the black talent of the day blows me away and I still listen to and love today. Laura Lee's side I pointed to is as close to a classical Aria I've ever heard on a 'pop'record. Paul Riser at Motown was a classically trained musician.
      Perhaps it's just something I'm seeing myself that others don't see. Perhaps a fainter echo of what you were looking for and enjoy so much?

    • @CyanBlackflower
      @CyanBlackflower 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jam1966ful Oh I get it, I was just throwing in my own interpretation of the evolution of that particular genre of jazz - and that it has branched out, forming many, many sub genres over the last 100 years. In any case, thank you for your suggestion. I will certainly look into it. I am now posting my own brand of music on soundcloud about 125 tracks to date. Here on youtube I have only posted 35 or so I'll post another 10 later today. I really do not even know what to call it as it is various styles, and fall into many categories and yet none really. I'm still developing, as I am quite new at this, but VERY determined to express something with it which cannot be done any other way. So I am always looking for something to inspire some type of growth which can be formed into something fresh, new, distinct, a bit different, and yet familiar.

    MY OPINION: from Sumerian civilization to our days, these were the best years in the world... now it's funk and classless riffraff ffff

      You’re kidding right? The men and women that sang these songs are so grown they’re fucking dead now. Try listening to the shitty music that’s released now and tell me what you think of *those* lyrics. You must be a Christian.
