That my friend is why you go to trusty yelp. You can read reviews and a lot of times you’ll see pics too. That allows you to get a feel for the vibe of a salon. I’m a stylist myself, but hubs is in the mil so we move a LOT so this is advice i use myself. I do NOT trust many with my style. Make Yelp your friend. If they don’t have reviews and you don’t know anyone who get their hair done by them find somewhere else to go. Don’t forget to check your surrounding towns too. It may be worth a little bit of a drive, especially if you’re doing a style you won’t need touched up a ton. 🥰

It gets even worse when you start growing your hair back. Basically you have to get an undercut and keep it until the top gets to chin length, otherwise you look 40. I'm currently trying to grow back my curly hair and it's a disaster

I haven’t gone to same hair stylist enough times for them to be used to it yet. Especially as I keep going shorter. This last time it was a family friend that I went to for the hair cut and she was shocked when I said how short I wanted it.

I haven't cut my hair since my fiance died about 3 years ago. He always told me to grow my hair super long.. I haven't had the heart to cut it yet and it's down past my butt. I feel like it's all I have left of him in a weird way. Idk

My hair was the only thing i loved about myself and then i had to have life saving brain surgery and I hated everything about me during my hospital life but at the end of the day it saved my life so i am greatful! When i got to go home a hairdresser my parents know came and gave me a free hair cut and style and ive fallen back in love with my hair! My scar is my battle scar i should be proud of 💖

Got my hair cut off today and I couldn't be happier! My hair was half way down my back and now it's in a pixie cut. And I was kind of scared halfway through not gonna lie, but I am so happy now and I wanted to cut it for at least 8 months. It feels so relieving and I am so happy that I did it! My parents liked it too! My little brother said it looks awful and I look better with long hair, but I don't regret my decision. I love it and couldn't be happier!

The first haircut I ever had was drastic - I had hair down to my thighs and I went in to a salon to get a bob to my shoulders in the back, but came down to about my breast in the front so I still had some length. The hairdresser kept the front area clipped up to make sure not to cut it, then without thinking she took the clip out, snipped it off, and instantly gasped as she had a moment of shock realising what she did and we both just looked at each other. She put her hand over her mouth and just stood there, I couldn't help but cry right then and there.
I know it was an accident, but my hair was everything to me and I absolutely hated the cut afterwards. She did her best to make it look good, but it was a completely different cut in the end.
I've had bad luck with hairdressers - I'm a licensed cosmetologist now and I won't let anyone else do my hair but myself.

I’ve watched this video so many times already. Half a year ago I cut my long hair (it was down my butt) into a pixie cut and donated it, and to this day I’m still excited about it. I have wavy/curly hair that becomes SO dry, ugly, and full of split ends if I grow it out more than midboob (?😂) length. I gave up on the hopes to have long hair and keep it shoulder length now so I live my dreams for long smooth healthy hair through my friends, I love styling theirs, touching it and looking at it and im soooo sad when they shorten it 😂😂😭😭😭

I've had a pixie for like 5 years. If you have a long side bang, you can definitely do mermaid hair on it, there are a lot of hairstyles like this. I did ombre to mine for like a year, only one color if I felt like having a shorter side bang. Color on the bangs or side bang looks more contrasting, dinamic and interesting than color on all the hair, imo. You can try and see how it goes.

"Year and a half of hair growth" . I spent 3 years growing out, no colours, no heat, nothing harsh, regular trims - and I got about an inch a year.
Well cutting your hair and thinking that will help it grow is a hilarious strategy tbh.
Everyone's hair grows at different speeds. My whole family has pretty quick growing hair, I get close to 1/2 inch a month, so about 6 inches a year. My brother's hair grows super fast and has trouble keeping it tidy unless he gets a cut every month. Honestly, part of the reason me and my sister keep our hair longer is because short cuts require way more maintenance of getting it cut regularly and we ain't got time or money for that.

The first time I ever dramatically cut my hair was when I was 8 years old. I had it all the way down to my butt and I donated it. They cut it to ear length. It was an awesome experience knowing that my donated hair made someone very happy ☺️

#2. They gave the poor girl at 11 minutes-ish the "speak to your manager" style and I'm so mad for her. She actually looked super cute with the length right after the braids got cut off.

When I was 12, I cut my hair for the first time since I was really little (maybe since I was five). I cut 21 inches in two braids and was still left with hair to my lower shoulder blades. At that point, I wore my hair every day in braids because it was so long. In braids it was way past my butt, and it would get caught in the wheels or those scooters we used in gym class.
When I was 16 or 17 (during Junior year) I cut my hair again. This time it was one braid that measured 18 inches. I asked for 10inches cut, but nope. It ended up being a chin bob thing, that was short in the back and came to my chin. My mom kind of freaked. But that hadn't been my plan.
Now 3 weeks ago, at 23 years old, I got a pixie undercut (like that last girl). Two braids were cut, 17 inches each. This time my mom freaked out worse, but I wanted my hair short sooo bad and kept saying yes whenever my dad and brother jokingly said they would shave it every time I said I needed a haircut while salons were closed. I've had my hair up in a bun or ponytail every day of summer for the past 4 years at least. I was so tired of it. I love my hair right now! And even self-shaved the sides and back with a size 2 on a razor, just like the salon did (although not as good as the salon. And the sideburns only got a size 2 as well). But I am still so happy with it!
I used to have such long hair, it was down to just above my knees. I cut it to shoulder length and donated the length that came off but I regret not going further and going straight to the pixie cut I have now because I had so much to give!

Happened to me, in the end I didn't get my pixie cut cause she eventually changed my mind. I've never cut my hair that short and I wanted to try it. I finally got the courage and instead she discouraged me...😔 I did cut my hair but only shoulder length.
