I have been to the Jersey Shore (in Atlantic City) and like Charlie, it's the only time I've ever seen the ocean. And it was really nice. I really enjoyed it. Honestly, I'd recommend it to anyone.
Resident Jersey Normies Fan here... Just got say this is not true of ...most of the shores in Jersey. Like Keansberg and Union Beach are terrible. So are but Ocean City and Mantoloking. Wildwood is good for the Boardwalk and party scene but not the shore itself. Some great beaches are Point Pleasant, Long Branch, Cape May, Lavallette, Belmar, and Stone Harbor. Barely any needles at those last few!
This is easily one of the best episodes of all time. Dee screaming "get in the GD car you fat fat ass, fat fat ass!!" Had to have taken many takes. I would've been crying laughing 😂😂
The braided look was quite popular for decades with teenage girls in humid places, and not just at the Jersey Shore as a common European stereotype was rich girls coming back from vacations in Spain with their hair braided.
It became a huge sensation with Bo Derek in the movie 10 in 1979. She was known for being a classic beauty and sex symbol. It starred Dustin Moore who is most famous for the movie Arthur.
Correction: “Angel dust” is a name for PCP in powder form. “Embalming fluid” is a name for PCP in liquid form, and has nothing to do with the actual fluids used in the embalming process (although apparently confusion over the name has led some people to smoke formaldehyde-laced cigarettes - formaldehyde being an actual, literal embalming fluid - which is just mind-numbingly stupid). Also, PCP - or phencyclidine - is a dissociative, which is the class of drugs that also contains things like ketamine and nitrous oxide (a.k.a. laughing gas).
When Charlie drops the glass at the end, that wasn’t in the script. He accidentally dropped it out of the car, and they decided to keep it in the show because it was funnier.
I was fortunate enough to meet the actor that plays Bobby several years ago when he was filming some movie in the Austin area. It's amazing just how polar opposite his personality is in real life. I was working at a bar at the time and he invited me to join him and a couple other actors he was there with when I got off. I joined them for a couple hours and while I can't remember any specifics of what we all talked about, it was one of those things I'll never forget. I found out several years later that one of the other actors that was there that night ended up getting a role on Ozark (the tall ginger one). Edit: another fun fact about Bobby (Chris Backus) is that he has been friends with Rob McElhanney for years and they make reference to him in multiple stories on the IASIP podcast.
3:39 it's yoghurt! There's an episode commentary where they talk about it, but apparently the bottle hadn't been cleaned very well and it still tasted like sunscreen lmao
No one is ever ready for "under the boardwalk." 😂😂😂 i sent clips of this episode to friends who have never seen the show, and boy, were they not ready. 😂😂😂
Boardwalks by their nature have to have spaces like that I'd imagine, due to changing height of tides at the pier. As to playing under them, places like Coney Island, etc back pre internet, semi secluded spots like that near otherwise bustling locales would be popular make out spots for local teens, thus leading to some of those rose tinted memories for Dennis and Dee.
I think Charlie said on the podcast that it was yogurt that they put in the bottle, but that they didn't rinse it out very well so it still tasted like sunblock, lol.
Angel dust is PCP NOT embalming fluid lol as far as i know that is just a nickname and/or something that is used to create pcp. All sorts of weird chemicals are often used to extract certain drugs but doesn’t mean that you are actually doing those chemicals. As far as I know pcp is similar to something like ketamine but people smoke it and I think it has slightly different effects. Kinda makes me wonder how much of their night was real lol
Atlantic City, New Jersey, boardwalks, etc, have thousands of stray cats living underneath it, and so both locals and tourists try to feed them and bring them drinkable water versus the salt water.
My hometown is Margate NJ, which is not even 15 minute drive from Ocean City, the place this episode was filmed from. And everything that happened in this episode? I can pretty much confirm this all has happen to at least someone. That's the Jersey Shore for you 😅
Angel Dust is an NDMA antagonist primarily - the drug is Phencyclidine (PCP). Embalming Fluid is only a street name, like Angel Dust, Sherm, Sherm Stick, or Wet. Allegedly some people actually tried later using embalming fluid because of that, but it is completely different.
I've been on those drop rides a few times like The Dungeon Drop in Astroworld in Houston, Texas when I was young and a Dr. Doom themed drop at Universal in Orlando, Florida. Really fun but there's actually a lot of incidents of people getting minor to violent injuries on those types of rides. Like a staggering amount compared to the standard roller coaster. So just don't mess around if you ever decide to go for it.
This episode is timeless but it struck you more at the time it came out because MTV Jersey Shore was huge and it showed you the whole Guido nonsense that Mac played on. Classic. This show was always good at playing on the pop culture and news of the day.
They get most of the drugs right it seems throughout this series in terms of the effects. but ecstasy they clearly did not get right. Most people remember everything on ecstasy, unless they overdose.

“Angel Dust is powdered embalming fluid.” Angel Dust is PCP(Phencyclidine) and it is not embalming fluid. Let’s try to avoid spreading misinformation. Drug war propaganda has poisoned enough minds, and watching 3 more people succumb to it because of Spidey talking out of his ass was propaganda in action 😂
God even without Pat, Sewage and Tami-Lynn still provided constant annoying comments and stupidity mixed with stubborn self confidence. Spidey and Navi are the only tolerable ones.
Sunday Rundown is a great marketing idea. Advertising that show on YT saying you read and discuss YT comments alone should have a measurable impact of P subscriptions. Kudos on your business sense. :-)

Have you ever been to the Jersey Shore? Do you have a crazy story?
I'm from the Jersey shore and I have a lot of crazy stories

best line of the episode
Saying that to her husband as well is gold, especially after admitting that she didn't like seeing him in that shape every day
Dee's rage in the end is iconic 😅
The braided look was quite popular for decades with teenage girls in humid places, and not just at the Jersey Shore as a common European stereotype was rich girls coming back from vacations in Spain with their hair braided.
Not just girls, I got my hair braided in Spain when I was a young long haired man lol. Those were dark times.
Yep. Got my hair braided in Cancun in 2000.

One of the all time classic episodes.
Rum Ham, the unofficial 6th member of the gang
That ham must have been disgusting by the time Frank got it back on the boat
I'm ngl, a rum-soaked ham sounds delicious.
Angel Dust is PCP.
Not embalming fluid. They would dip blunts laced with angel dust IN embalming fluid.
@@The_Rickest_Rick weed goes with everything

My first drug experience was pcp laced weed. Turns out I handle trips well, so I had a very intense but cool time. My friends were not so lucky

Season 7 was so great! I have never not laughed at that jersey shore montage!
They don’t need to trick Charlie to go back to Philly, just to leave it.
Charlie doesn't have to be knocked out to go back to Philly, just when he's leaving
Spidey: Philly is literally on the border of New Jersey, but to go down to the Jersey shore is about a 1.5 hour drive.
with traffic, without you can get there in an hour. (also depends on the beach you're going to)
I’M SORRY RUM HAM!
IT SHOULD'VE BEEN YOU!

This is one of the best episodes of It’s Always Sunny!
Rana from the Normies and Aaron from Blind Wave should bond over their hatred of needles.
I think Charlie said on the podcast that it was yogurt that they put in the bottle, but that they didn't rinse it out very well so it still tasted like sunblock, lol.
it really is amazing how much they fit into 22 mins. filled with multiple laugh out loud moments in every scene. best comedy ever!

They wouldn't have to drug Charlie on the way back, just when exiting Philly.
Season 7 is so good ..some many great episodes
No shade to the rest of the crew, but Spidey’s reactions are by far my favorite in the Sunny playlist. Makes me laugh every time 😂
That’s because he’s watched the show before

The homeless guys futt bucking under the boardwalk always gets me every time the sheer terror as if they stumbled onto a dead body
Angel dust is PCP. Like the bad bad category of shit. Smoke as much of weed as you want, but PCP is legitimate trouble.
this beach perfectly describes story of California
Charlie Day said on commentary the sunscreen bottle was yoghurt with a slight sun tan lotion after taste lol
Angel Dust isn't literal embalming fluid. Embalming fluid is a street name for a type of PCP.
Just a bunch of stray dogs running the Jersey Shore. Lol
The Shore's a little bit away but Philly is literally across the river to New Jersey. It's why the Philly Mob runs Atlantic City.
Honestly. . . This is 100 percent how the Jersey shore is. Used to hang in Wildwood, and it gets worse every year bro

There definitely are *some* beaches in Jersey that look like that, but there are some genuinely nice spots too.
