Italian boys are constantly told “ bravo” ( well done , or something) and they can never do wrong and never punished. When they grow up , they have never experienced pain for wrong doing. Coming to the USA , where people are brought up differently, they can and do take advantage of the population through intimidation and violence. I am not saying all Italian men are that way , but their upbringing promotes criminality.

Mark- I will not lie to you, the majority of your videos interest me at first glance. Beyond that, I can never manage to remain enthralled and present for anything beyond a few minutes of each video.
I’m no one important- just a woman that believes it fair to have a compliment or praise to follow any criticism or bias opinion.
This one has me locked in. Parts one and two. I am familiar with the life- my step father was a Sicilian Dallas transplant from New England and the nature of these events resonates with me.
I would really love the opportunity to talk with this guy and write an untapped perspective of this story.
“Tommy”- your words have moved me. Our values are aligned. I’ve never met anyone explain as well as you.
I would love nothing more than to chat.
    Astounded,

My grandmother Savino grew up during prohibition in the Bronx. She never spoke to anyone about things she had witnessed in her neighborhood growing up except to her immediate family in her household. One day in 1931 she was shoved down by a tall gentleman that she never seen before in the neighborhood and as the man pushed her he said something along the lines of get back little girl or look out little girl. At this this time she witnessed Joe the Baker Catania got blasted across his forehead and upper torso. Then he was thrown into a cab and the cab took off with the Baker to Fordham hospital.
Google wasn't out when she would tell the story to all us grandkids . I think she told us her stories when I was like 4 or 5 and every time it was exactly the same as before.
The tall man she thinks was a lookout for the shooter which ultimately saved her life as she was headed back to school. Well that tall man was never seen by her in the neighborhood ever again. She also saw who shot the Baker and where the shooting came from. He passed away the following day on February 4th 1931.

I hope that life turns out for the better on this end of it. The way you tell your story very well spoken, no pausing and having to think, no back tracking or talking in circles. You are as Mark stated a good story teller. A handsome older gentleman. We all have that one thing that we dont like about ourselves. I'm guessing it's your receding hair line, that only makes you look more distinguished. I'd love to hear more about you and the life (if possible). Very intriguing.

Was hoping for another hour-plus interview with Mr. Dye. Next time, perhaps.
Trivia: Taylor and Racine was where Sean Connery’s character lived in “The Untouchables.”
Maybe not-so realistic for an Irishman, of that era to live there?
And Andy Garcia’s character, who is supposedly-Italian, mispronounces “Racine” as “Ra-cine,” (instead of “ray-cine” when he calls-in Connery’s murd3r.

Totally shocking! I cannot believe that this man, if the story he tells is true, thinks nobody will recognize him!! Unbelievable because I have seen people that I knew from when I was in my late adolescence, early teens, and recognize them in their 60s, I think I mostly feel sorry for him because he says he does not regret the life he lived , scary 😢

He wondered if he’s a psychopath right before he tells the golf club story. That’s your answer. Yes, you are a psychopath. Interesting but yes, a psychopath.
