The OG singer, Kim Dong Ryul, is a baritone. The lowest note was A2 which is easy for baritone (me included) but it’s hard for tenor to not sound breathy or creaky. It’s impressive Chen can hit it clearly despite being tenor.

+Candy Rush Chen's voice is rare too, ...all the damn EXO's voices are rare I think the most normal voice is Suho's. LOL But if they don't hear the idols that much I guess Baek and Dodo are going to do it great. :) But they have to practice more, Chen is the best vocalist in EXO and one of the best in Korea and he didn't won this, so they for sure have to be ready.
+Blow Light "best" vocalist is very subjective. chen is technically phenomenal and there's no doubt exo vocalists in general are among some of THE strongest new generation male kpop idols, but baekhyun i'd say could get some great traction doing this show...winning is unpredictable and could be unlikely but I agree to some extent? Technique is only part of the ballgame for a vocalist, so baekhyun is still my overall favorite singer haha. I would love to see him on masked singer...

The orig singer is a baritone the lowest note is (A2) i think.. and its not easy for a tenor like chen. But he did it so well and hit those low notes, falsettos, head voice and highnotes. He's really one of the best vocalists in kpop WITH THE WIDEST RANGE.

currently, he's not as good as chenbaeksoo, the thing that surprised me the most was when jinho was very consistent during debut with sm the ballad whereas chenbaeksoo were very pitchy during debut and the early days of exo, but chenbaeksoo turned the tables around, be glad that jinho is technically better than xiumin and the rest of exo and jinhos weaknesses are pretty obvious: - tends to oversing way out of his comfort range (evident in majority of his performances in pentagon maker) - sloppy runs, melismas despite being influenced by rnb singing - throaty quality in his mix - nasality is mostly present in his singing - no improvement has been shown from 2010 until now - lacks openness - tongue tension when belting and mostly present in F#4 - decent lower register but often quiet and airy when he descends further down - sometimes, he lacks production on his resonance - habit to "show off" rather than singing correctly and im also glad that sm replaced him for d.o because if it didnt happen, exo wouldn't be the strongest vocal line in this generation

+Blow Light "best" vocalist is very subjective. chen is technically phenomenal and there's no doubt exo vocalists in general are among some of THE strongest new generation male kpop idols, but baekhyun i'd say could get some great traction doing this show...winning is unpredictable and could be unlikely but I agree to some extent? Technique is only part of the ballgame for a vocalist, so baekhyun is still my overall favorite singer haha. I would love to see him on masked singer...

The orig singer is a baritone the lowest note is (A2) i think.. and its not easy for a tenor like chen. But he did it so well and hit those low notes, falsettos, head voice and highnotes. He's really one of the best vocalists in kpop WITH THE WIDEST RANGE.

A lot of misconceptions are happening in KPOP like if you're from SM, you're just pretty but the funny thing is SM produces the best vocalists in KPOP. currently, he's not as good as chenbaeksoo, the thing that surprised me the most was when jinho was very consistent during debut with sm the ballad whereas chenbaeksoo were very pitchy during debut and the early days of exo, but chenbaeksoo turned the tables around, be glad that jinho is technically better than xiumin and the rest of exo and jinhos weaknesses are pretty obvious:
- tends to oversing way out of his comfort range (evident in majority of his performances in pentagon maker)
- sloppy runs, melismas despite being influenced by rnb singing
- throaty quality in his mix
- nasality is mostly present in his singing
- no improvement has been shown from 2010 until now
- lacks openness
- tongue tension when belting and mostly present in F#4
- decent lower register but often quiet and airy when he descends further down
- sometimes, he lacks production on his resonance
- habit to "show off" rather than singing correctly
and im also glad that sm replaced him for d.o because if it didnt happen, exo wouldn't be the strongest vocal line in this generation
