I currently have a z fold 3 and I love it, but I have no clue what they were thinking with these dimensions.
the front screen isn't big its wide its a difference but alot of people will like a smaller foldable not me the fold is the right size
Strong work, TK. This is the first foldable that I would be interested in owning. I'd use this on a vacation where I wanted to travel light and carry only one device to leave both the phone and tablet home. Love the green color.

FYI Golden ratio is an actual mathematical ratio. 1.6180..... It's not a marketing term created by Oppo. It's considered the most aesthetically pleasaing ratio for a rectangle and was invented 2000 years ago. Check it out on wikipedia. Nice review!

I like from this device that is a different approach to foldables, smaller when closed and big enough while open, hopefully it will be worldwide available

@@TKBay that's something I miss from other brands which were selling in the US, LG had their foldable inn plans, Huawei is not able to sell there, Honor lost their support and expansion after being sold and so on, just a few foldables
Hopefully OnePlus brings this to the US later this year or Google implements something similar to the Oppo's Find N2 with their Pixel Fold. Samsung needs some serious competition here to get them to change their folds to be more like this.

I think OPPO Find N2 is shows the RIGHT way about foldable devices to go on. No gap hinge, Rightful golden ratio (you don't have to rotate phone in large mode!!), very nice outer display that can be used in almost normal using.
I've used Z Fold 3 about 6 months, but I don't have now. It has some kind of uncomfortable things. So I sold it used market.
And now, I want Find N2. Look at beautiful ratio and performance and camera. They give phone with 'case' even!!!

@@KisameSempai Nah that Xiaomi one is just slim with a very poor hinge. The hinge is even worse than Samsung's .
If it's water resistant, optimize in social media apps and optimize ui then I think they should release it globally so that Samsung have competitor atleast for foldable devices. P.S Technology is so beautiful 💙
So yes, all of those things will need to be addressed for them to be in the international market. This right now is optimized to run in China again. We're looking at hardware that wasn't intended to be available for us to buy outside of China. All of those things that you're asking for in your mentioning are going to be things they need to focus on before releasing it for us to be able to use it. Where apps that don't exist in China will need to be optimized for again, Instagram is not an application that they use and of course there are other applications that they do use. Like TikTok actually is optimized to run on this format for some reason

This does look great. I would have loved to see Kindle on here, just to get an idea of what it's like for reading and maybe some Netflix or other videos to see what viewing would be like. I wonder if one day we will see an international version of one of their foldables.
Thanks for the great and detailed review, but I am also curious about if push notifications work well on this phone. Chinese android phones usually don't have proper notifications for apps from outside of China.
you are correct, this is the same as other phones for China, not optimized for the global market. I hope the Flip will be better
That is a really good looking device
For me, this is the only correct execution of foldable phone concept. This is the perfect size for it, plus there’s no gap when closed. Now if they could add some degree of water resistance, that would be amazing.

Great content as always. Glad the disclaimer was put in at the end. It seems like Oppo is trolling the U.S. market with all these great phones. I won't import another expensive Oppo phone until I know things like group texting works. Come on OnePlus, give us these foldables.

@@xephyr417 Nah OnePlus is lazy as hell nowadays. They have shifted all the duties to OPPO.... seriously at this point they should just change the brand name to OPPO-Plus and be done with it.

TK, have you been able to get your messages and notifications normally, or have their been delays sometimes or missed notifications? I'm kinda interested in this phone because of the size for one, and to try a folding phone that isn't a flip.
So this is ColorOS 13 I get the notifications but I have only had this guy for a week so no issues yet. I would say they delayed a little with Gmail yes but instagram and twitter work for me.
If they do release the Flip n2 model outside of China with a global ROM we should be able to flash that ROM onto the find N2 being the share the same hardware

Hi TK...I have the find n original... having updated to color os 13 the inner screen is replicating the outer screen...its way to bunched for a much larger screen...if I manually move the apps to make it more like a tablet it then also moves the apps on the outer screen over several pages... I've been through every setting several times but with no luck,any ideas...ps it all worked fine on os 12.

The Fold is fine for me, just wish the front was wider, but I like the height.
I always turn the fold sideways when I use it to get it to the right width. but all I want is options in the US so that we get Sammy to give us some of the new displays they make. they make this display for OPPO.

Right now for me, the only thing I'm able to use is OPPO share , that seems to work just as well as nearby share, but I think it's more of a licensing and Google not releasing that feature in China yet, as well as the assistant not being a popular or supported feature there

I really like this cell but I'm not sure if I will buy it. I'm leaning towards the Vivo X90 Pro Plus. Currently I have the OnePlus 8 Pro. The N 2 camera system is improved but obviously can't truly complete with flagship slab phones. I do like the size, just wish it was a little thinner.
X90 Pro plus is a completely camera centric phone. So if you are a person who focuses on cameras then you should get that. But if you want a complete package then it will be better to wait for Find X6 pro. That's expected to knock Samsung on their head this time.

I'd love to import one of these. Can you remove the Chinese bloatware on the phone. And is there any pre-installed malware/ tracking apps that are specific to the Chinese phone?
How is the aspect ratio issue? Is it still like Find N1 or has it improved?
Is it still made for the Chinese market? So it's optimized for Chinese applications and application developers in that market will always prioritize these devices since it's not available internationally. No optimizations has been done for international the applications like Instagram, you know the Twitter and some of those other applications, but I will say that this will need to be worked on before they release it internationally. So hopefully that's in the plans for them
@@TKBay hmm.. Hopefully they do release this one internationally. Still the last Find N isn't available worldwide and the ones which are available runs on the Chinese Rom.
Although I will say there is one flaw in the hardware, the speaker position. They could have spaced one of them on the top and one at the bottom. It would give a better stereo experience and the dolby atmos surround sound experience.
I'm looking for a replacement for my Mate 20X, it got blacklisted. Still the best device I have ever owned and it has no equal. It's 7.2 inches, how can this one only be 7.1?
Since all the new phones are too narrow I have become interested in a foldable. The only way I'm going to be able to get the size I want. Bought a Note 20 ultra 5g and it's just too small. Curved screen, fingerprint, face unlock all are not good.
My Mate is irreplaceable, people with big hands are just out of luck.

I haven't done a comparison between the two but they're very good and low light is definitely stronger on this one than the original find N
@@TKBay Thanks very much, I'm not sure if it's worth the upgrade over the Oppo X5 Find Pro as far as the camera is concerned and low light photos in dark environments. Wonder if it is better and if it has better Zoom options.

Do you know if you are still stuck using the default message app? I know that on the prior N you could not group message on it. You had to send out messages per individual and not a group message

Yes I have, I get my twitter and instagram DM and message notifications just fine. I am not sure if they are instant or delayed but I get them and can respond to them

Could you tell me if Location History - Timeline is working in Google Maps? I have bought OPPO Find N a year a go , I'm in Greece , and my only problem is this. Even that I've updated to Color OS 13 the problem remains. Otherwise everything is working fine

I think a gap between the screens is really important to not scratch the screen due to some sand grains or somethings like that 🤔
Duo definitely has a very good form factor. This is the closest we get to it with a foldable display
i wish samsung would build the fold 5 like like this and that huawei, the outer display for fold 4 is just weird. too narrow.
they need to update the fold for them to survive the international market. Honor, huawei, vivo, and OPPO will take over very soon

No problem at all using color OS, Chinese edition. Google Play store installed very simply and easily and almost every application will run as it runs on any other device to internationally. The only limitation I will say is not notifications are still a little bit delayed, and that's mostly because the memory management that we've seen before you can whitelist certain applications, but there is still a little bit of a delay for me. It was not an issue and if you've used any of their devices in the past, it should be okay. As far as the X90, I haven't had a chance to spend too much time with that. I played with the X90 Pro plus running origin OS and I did not get a chance to install any Google Play services. That device wasn't with me for an extended amount of time. I hope this helps

The only thing I'll miss is One UI in general, One Hand Operation+ and separate app sound. I've been waiting for a device that'll make me switch from Samsung and the N2 seems like it's the one. It also looks more durable (I've already had my Fold3 inner screen replaced once due to it cracking by itself) with that crease looking to have mild stress on the material in constrast to Samsung's way of folding.
One hand operations won't be an issue. ColorOS has some intuitive features which act great for One-hand usage like "Icon pull gesture"
Can you please test google wallet, that usually doesn't work wen you sideload gms

This is the one if they release it internationally. The only reason I didn't keep the OG Find N was having to fight with the Chinese software restrictions (which yes... I know is my fault)
yea its hard to say that this is for everyone, we need one optimized for the international market.
Exact same situation as you. My Oppo Find N was my favorite phone I've ever owned, but chinese software restrictions and missing MMS/SMS messages constantly forced me to get rid of it. I Loved that thing :/
@@piero914 you won't get the notifications on the lock screen but everywhere else you can bypass those restrictions
